Tucked away in a quiet residential neighborhood less than a mile from the Massanutten Resort slopes, Maple Highlands is a 4BR/4BA estate that provides a picture-perfect mountaintop hideaway.
Boasting almost 2,500 square feet of inviting living space, the bright and open floor plan is highlighted by a luxurious all-suite layout and fine decor assembled by world travelers. Cozy up by the gas fireplaces, whip up delicious dishes in the well-equipped kitchen, or host a cookout on the two large mountain-view decks.
The Mountain Greens Golf Course and Massanutten Indoor Water Park are just minutes away.

Association (MPOA), governed by its rules and regulations. There are rental homes in all MPOA
neighborhoods, but people also live here. Your nearby neighbors may be full-time residents, including

The house in its prime was most likely lovely. Its size works well for a large party of 6 adults 5 kids. Being a rental I didn’t expect posh but was disappointed with ripped sofa cushions, major marks on walls & dining table. Cookwear has seen better days and some mouse droppings seen in utensil drawer near refrigerator. We were shorted one towel and chose to buy one at Walmart when grabbing food. The owner once notified did say he would ask cleaning company to drop a few extra off but that never happened. One of my biggest concerns was having a two year old with black feet due to the dirty rugs in the main living area. The rugs were actually a good quality but haven’t been cleaned it appears. Beds were okay but only one pillow per person supplied. It would be better if two were mad ex available. Host is very responsive, location is great.

The landlord was very helpful. The location and view was awesome! We loved the big dinning table chairs very comfortable and it was the place to hang, talk and play games. Upstairs was very nice. Except for the mouse droppings in the silver wear drawer and under the kitchen sink. The fireplace was very cozy upstairs, the one downstairs smelled of gas, we did not leave that one burning. the carbon detector did not work. The downstairs needs some updating with furniture and decor. The pull out sofa was very small, didn't look that way in the pictures. That was not clean at all, you can tell it hadn't been used in a long time and it also had mouse dropping all over it, needed a deep cleaning. We could tell there was a mouse issue and they were trying to handle it with mouse detectors in outlets. All in all, we had a very nice time. Suggestion, get a better cleaning person. Pay attention to the little things that could make the house so much more attractive and get you 5 stars.

Weekend in Massanutten

Overall great weekend trip for my group that are JMU alumni! Only complaints would be that we were given 4 rolls of toilet paper the entire weekend. No complimentary toiletries (if we had been aware ahead of time, then no complaints). One of the grills was really dirty. Coffee pot was leaking so we had to go through several pots of coffee to get enough for our group. Limited dishware set. If the house sleeps 12, I would expect there to be a complete (doesn't need to be a matching) set of dishware for everyone. Views were amazing to catch the sunrise or sunset! Not far from JMU, about 30 min drive and all 12 of us were able to sleep comfortably! Huge plus was that all 4 bathrooms were full baths. Neighborhood was quiet and felt safe.

We absolutely loved the layout of the house. It is very outdated furnishing consisting of box TV’s (we couldn’t get the one in the master to work
but bring DVD’s cuz it had a DVD/VHS player). If the bedrooms had a tv, they were very small and old. Luckily, the living room tv was modern. All 4 kids actually opted to sleep in the living room due to the lack of entertainment. Walls, sink, and countertop are stained. There were layers of dust on many shelves and vents. Bring your own toilet paper cuz the very little that was there was of the lowest quality. Much of the cookware is old and weathered. One of the large pans is unusable due to it not sitting flat on the burner. We always cook in when we go somewhere so a well stocked kitchen is a must. They did have nice blackstone grill equipment. The decks are slightly sketchy and honestly need to be redone, but the views were beautiful and we saw so much wildlife. We only stayed two nights so when the fireplace wouldn’t turn on we didn’t have the energy to call maintenance and obviously it wasn’t a need. The futon downstairs is broken which I saw in a review in 2023 so it just doesn’t seem like the owners or cleaners take a whole lot of care with the property? A closet in a bedroom upstairs had more dust than I have ever seen and actual trash thrown in there. Definitely not worth the money we spent on the house, but we still had a great time spending quality time with each other and enjoying the resort.

Great house! Great for multiple families with two bedrooms up and two down with sitting areas in both. Clean, has everything you need for a weekend get away. Communication was excellent. Very close to the slopes! Needs a few updates but nothing that should affect you having a great stay! Highly recommend

Great weekend with friends!

We stayed here with friends and enjoyed our time together. Staying in this home with four bedrooms with en-suites made it comfortable for everyone. There are some minor maintenance issues that need to be addressed but all in all we enjoyed staying here.

Disappointed! Not satisfied!

The outside of the house is looking nice, but inside is very old furnished. The walls and doors are very stained and dirty. The furniture is very old. Most of the chairs are broken. One of the bathroom’s toilet seat is cracked. One of the couch pillow stinks like vomit. Futton bed is broken. And most importantly, kitchen drawers are full of rat feces.

We had 8 of us staying in this house and we all had a wonderful time. Would definitely stay here again. Only negative was that the pillows in all the rooms were very flat. Everything else was wonderful!

Lots of space, but needs TLC

Based on previous reviews of this property, we had high expectations for this property. However, the home was subpar. The house was overall very dusty and dirty. We found dead worms under beds, mouse droppings in kitchen drawers, and ants throughout the kitchen and dining room. The bed frames were rickety, towel racks were broken, and one of the toilet seats was cracked. Walls and cabinets were beat up. The house was cluttered with outdated knick knacks that were often broken and collecting dust. Many lamps did not work and some outlets also did not work. This home has good potential but needs serious cleaning and cosmetic work.
