This oceanfront home is perfect for your next getaway. This home is near many local shops and restaurants, and if you don't bring a boat, you can easily get out on the water with one of the local fishing, boating, or diving charters. It's also a short drive along scenic US-1 to several local attractions, like the Dolphin Research Center, Florida Keys Aquarium, Seven Mile Bridge, Sombrero Beach, and The Curry Hammock State Park. You can also try kiteboarding, windsurfing, shallow-water fishing, and hiking! Relax after a day of adventures in the waterfront pool.

The home has a full kitchen for easy meal preparation and plenty of space for dining inside and outside on the back patio. Stay connected during your stay with cable TV and free WiFi.
  
THINGS TO KNOW

If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. No more dogs are allowed.
Parking notes: There is free parking available for 2 vehicles.
1 day notification is required in order to heat the pool. A fee of USD 32 per day must be paid prior to check-in to purchase pool heat for your stay.


Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

We had the best stay in Marathon at this wonderful property. The house was perfect for what we needed and the pool and outside area is a dream. The house is centrally located in Marathon and easy to get everywhere in the Keys. Would absolutely recommend and stay there again!

Beautiful location

This was a beautiful location for our overdue getaway. Home was very convenient to markets as well as trips up and down the keys. Kitchen was well equipped with just about everything from a cheese grater, to drink pitchers, cookie sheets, electric kettle, etc. Bathroom was stocked with little shampoos, conditioners and soaps to get you started. Would suggest another set or two of bath towels so you’re not having to wash towels midweek. We slept in the bigger of two bedrooms and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. Lots of spots to stretch out and relax . Pool was perfect. Not the best spot for fishing if you like to fish but the Bridges are not far. The negative is the property management is based out of Oregon? We had issue with TV and only getting 3 or 4 channels. Never was resolved but we ended up driving to Florida City and dropping $200 for a smart TV and used that. HIGHLY recommend to update your TV in the home. Had another issue with the microwave. It stopped working mid-dinner on Wed. Contacted property managers right away. Told them it was not an emergency situation. But they said they would contact locals to set up for them to look at it. They contacted us Saturday late afternoon, our last day so it didn’t matter to us at that point. Every time the property management was contact it was a different person to reply. Very impersonal and annoying. We loved the home over all and enjoyed our stay.

Property awesome. Vacasa itself was beyond horrible

Contacted Vacasa , the property manager, 3 times during my stay. No communication from them at all during Helene. No one came to secure the property , nor did they ever check the property after the storm. They showed total disrespect for not only myself, but above all no concern for the property or it's owner. I have been coming to the Keys since the 70's and have never experienced such lack of concern or communication from a property manager. Was told there would be a local contact team which was never shared with me. Calling an 800 or 888 number ,wherever they were, was obviously not acceptable nor effective.

August Vacation in Marathon

Overall we had a lovely vacation in the Keys and enjoyed having a base in Marathon. However, the property did not fully meet our expectations. It is in a great location, looking out over the Atlantic Ocean. The pool was great, we used the spa and my kids enjoyed the pool toys. Evening meals were enjoyed under the Tiki hut. For awareness, the Tiki hut is looking tired and the seating appears to be old and felt uncomfortable. Electrical wiring for the roof lights should be properly secured. BBQ grill ignition did not work so it had to be lit manually each time. Outdoor kitchen is tired and needs a deep clean. Inside the bungalow, interior redecoration is tired and scruffy we feel and the whole place appears to need a fresh coat of paint. Kitchen was good but lacks a dishwasher for guests with children. No kettle to boil water for hot drinks. Living room furniture is dated and uncomfortable. Bedrooms were fine. We had concerns about fixtures in the bathroom. The sink is not securely attached to the wall, is in danger of coming away completely and should be fixed as a priority. The towel rail and hook near the sink were not fixed to the walls securely and both came away at a first attempt to use towels. We were not heavy handed. On reflection we feel the property was poor value and unless there is a full renovation and repairs, guests are likely to repeat the same comments as us. Unfortunately we wouldn't stay at the property again.

Wonderful way to experience the Florida Keys

We stayed at the Blue Water Bungalow for our week long family vacation to the Florida Keys. We appreciated how clean and quiet the property was. It is a shared property in a residential neighborhood. The location is centrally located to many attractions and necessities in Marathon as well as other locations in the Florida Keys. We enjoyed our stay very much and are looking forward to returning to the Blue Water Bungalow!

Cute little Blue Water Bungalow

This was a beautiful piece of property. The pool and tiki hut were wonderful. This is a duplex but the pool was private. The beds slept great. It was everything and more of what I was expecting.

Good location needs some TLC

Overall good property but needs some TLC. We had issues accessing the property. Took a call to the management company to find out acces to the property is through the patio door no front door. A simple sign would of helped especially when you arrive late at night. There was no hot water in the kitchen. The living room fan did not work. The washing machine did not rinse all the way. The mattress is badly stained. Pillows were awful. The burners on the gas grill are rusted out. The pans and silverware is very old and beaten up. Very creaky sofa, the place needs some updates and a little money spending on it.

Stay was great. Sargassum grasses were a little unpleaseant. View and location was excellent. Living room furniture could use a little upgrade along with the entrance slider door. Heated pool overlooking the ocean was the BEST. Ocean view from the screened-in porch also beautiful. Outdoor ‘kitchen’ was a joy as was the ‘cabana’. Definitely walk to the Wooden Spoon ‘diner’ for breakfast/lunch.

Amazing property and amazing views!

Surprisingly great: • Our primary consideration was location, location, location. o The view out of the family room, kitchen, deck, and tiki hut all face south toward the Atlantic Ocean. This means that sunrise and sunset both occur in our view, giving us beautiful ocean views and stunning cloud colors. o In Marathon, we are close to several attractions, 2 grocery stores, 2 pharmacies, a hospital, and Home Depot. • The outside cabana area would be our second-best surprise o The landscaping was top-notch, and probably replaced after hurricane Irma devastated the area (it looks a little on the young side) o The outdoor kitchen includes a very high-end BBQ grill we used virtually every day. Highlights include high heat and very well controlled flames. A full tank of propane was provided for our stay, and there was a surplus tank available that was empty that could be taken somewhere to refill. o Marine quality switches in the cabana turn on LED strand lighting, an overhead fan, and pool lighting. Likewise, the overhead lighting over the BBQ are on marine quality switches. • The Internet has been surprisingly fast and reliable. More than fast enough for all the streaming that we did (which was a lot) • Updated kitchen and updated master bath are well done, and the tile and hardwood floors throughout are on point from a style and function perspective. The shower easily accommodates two ;-) and the inlaid pebble flooring in the shower is naturally slip-proof (we are very big on safety, and we appreciate amenities that help with that!) • There are many decorations that add to the seaside themes • Plenty of space for two people,, could easily accommodate 4. Many seating surfaces are available both inside and out • The TV is large, high quality, and pivots on an arm to angle the tv toward any part of the main living area • The stove was excellent with quick preheat and good temperature control • The tap water tasted great (unlike many Florida locations that have a sulfur taste and smell) • The knives are wonderfully sharp, and sharpeners are provided (yes, I’m a steel snob!) • The washer and dryer were high quality and took care of our laundry without any drama • The home was immaculately cleaned before we arrived • The management company and/or owner do their best to maintain the property. While we were here, an exterminator and pool maintenance guys stopped by for their routine upkeep activities.

Not private. It’s a duplex. Host not on-site.

Pros: 1 beautiful pool 2 beautiful sunrise view 3.convenient location Cons 1 Vacasa will tell you anything to rent a property. I specifically emailed and asked if the rental was a private home and if the host lived onsite. Upon arrival, we discovered it is a duplex. With the front half rented out, so the parking is shared. Also, the boat dock is not part of the rental. 2 the inside of the home is not very comfortable. Wicker furniture with nails poking out. 2nd bedroom bed is hard. MB bed was soft but mattresses are stained and should at least be encased in a mattress protector. 3) outdoor fan is noisy. 4) no outdoor cleaning equipment. A brush for the pool would be nice and a spray nozzle for the hose, so you can wash the bird poop off the pool deck. In summary, I won’t ever rent a VRBO from a property managed by someone other than the host. This property lacks the personal touches that make a vacation extra special. I hope this helps.
