„We had a wonderful 5 night stay. A quiet village on the edge of the moors with cozy country pub. The pub food was spectacular! I’m not exaggerating… the chefs are top notch. The pub staff were so friendly and helpful too. The room was comfortable with a full king size bed and small well stocked kitchen. If we lived in the UK, we’d visit every year! As Canadians, we’ll have to wait till “next time “.“

„Arrived to be given a key and parking disc , friendly but nobody overnight at a reception, big room but found it very noisy with the seagulls and road noise as single glazed windows , tap wobbly and no waste cover in shower , should have unplugged the fridge as noisy at night on and off , no plug point near the dressing table so couldn’t see when drying hair , did smell like a greasy spoon !!!“

"Haben dort eine Nacht verbracht. Das Zimmer war sehr gut und groß. Parkplatz am Hotel relativ teuer aber ok"

"Het is een heel mooi hotel maar, het moet beter ingericht worden. Het heeft hele mooie items maar zo ondoordacht ingezet. Het personeel is aardig maar lijkt geen goede leiding te hebben. Te weinig ingewerkt om in een hotel te werken met allure. Het ontbijt is summier voor zo een hotel. Ook wordt er weinig tot geen aandacht besteed aan de aankleding en netheid van het ontbijt buffet. De kamers zijn prima maar er zou wat aanpassingen aan de verlichting kunnen gedaan worden. Ook de aanvulling in de badkamers voor cosmetisch doeleinden mag wat uitgebreider zijn. Ik de 3 nachten dat wij gelogeerd hebben is deze niet aangevuld. Er lagen alleen 2 glazen. Het zwembad is verouderd eveneens de jacuzzi en sauna’s. Overall: het is een prachtig hotel met een uitstekende basis in de victoriaanse stijl. Hier kun je iets econisch van maken met goede organisatie skills en weinig financiële middelen . Het zou het beste hotel van York kunnen worden…. Gezien vanuit mijn optiek als binnenhuisarchitect en bedrijfsorganisatie. "

"Horrific! Never Again - Filthy, Run-Down and Rude Staff We booked this hotel for a very special occasion - a wedding - and it turned out to be the biggest mistake of our trip. The moment we walked into the room, we were hit with a musty, dusty smell that made it hard to breathe. The bathroom was filthy, with visible rust and mold. The radiators were covered in thick layers of dust and grime, the furniture was damaged and stained, cobwebs were hanging from the windows, the door frames were chipped and discolored, and the carpets looked like they hadn't been properly cleaned in years. The absolute worst: the bed and pillows were so dusty and dirty that staying in the room for more than a few minutes felt suffocating. For hygiene and health reasons, we had to leave immediately and find another place to stay. And it wasn't just the room - the reception was a disaster too. The staff were rude, dismissive, and outright lied to us. An Expedia representative had confirmed to us over the phone that he spoke directly with the reception. Yet, when we confronted them, they flat-out denied any conversation had taken place. I have never experienced anything like this in all my travels. This hotel is an absolute disgrace in every sense. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone - especially if you care about cleanliness, honesty, or basic hospitality. Bottom line: Avoid at all costs! You'd be better off sleeping on a park bench than in this nightmare of a hotel."
