Beautiful older home with all the needed and contemporary updates! Both kitchens are amazing, the size of the property is massive! This house was super cool (built in the 1900s!) and very spacious! It was clean and the beds were very comfortable! We absolutely loved the location, walkable to so many places and also short uber rides/drives to other attractions! We did have an almost 2 year old with us and overall it was manageable (the stairs were challenging) but the yard and play set were perfect! The downstairs kitchen didn’t have a microwave, and it had very limited utensils and serving wear overall, which was inconvenient! The upstairs kitchen had a microwave and more kitchen utensils. There was plenty of parking in the back and the hot tub worked great and was warm! We really enjoyed our stay and would booked again! Thank you, Tony!

We booked this home primarily because of the hot tub, but unfortunately it was not functioning during our stay. Multiple jets came unglued, and while the owner was very responsive and maintenance came out the same day to attempt a repair, the fix did not hold, leaving the hot tub unusable. This was a disappointment given it was one of the main reasons we chose the property.That said, the house itself is lovely - spacious, clean, and well-decorated with a fun New Orleans speakeasy theme. The location is excellent, making it easy to access nearby attractions. The host’s responsiveness and effort to address issues stood out and was greatly appreciated.Overall, while the non-working hot tub was a letdown, the home and host were wonderful, and with the hot tub repaired, this would be an outstanding rental.

First time in the Lou

We wanted to stay 10 minutes from my sister and this location was perfect! We actually walked to one of our dinner reservations that she booked. Everything is so close in the city, so this was the perfect location. It fit 4 families total very comfortably and the yard was perfection for our little kids. They enjoyed the hot tub daily, as well! Tony was so nice and communicated very well with us. We will definitely be back!
This is the gorgeous front, and we always parked in the back and used the back gate for the easiest access.

Great home base for Bourbon Trail

Our group of 8 guys had a great time at the Bonnycastle. The location was perfect for bourbon trail exploring. Our driver picked us up at the house on travel days and several Louisville distilleries were close by to venture out on our own. The location is also convenient to restaurants and bars. Perfect space!

My friends and I had a long weekend and stayed here. We absolutely loved this place! There are two kitchens if you get the whole house and each of the rooms were well decorated. The entire house was also very clean! We were able to use the backyard also and it was so nice having multiple parking spots. We were about 15 min from all of our activities and walking around the neighborhood was absolutely beautiful! There are parks nearby that a couple of the ladies went running around. All in all I would come back! Christine and Tony were extremely responsive and also provided recommendations in the app and also via text. Really appreciated them as our hosts!

Super easy to get in the house. Easy and convenient parking. The house is comfortable and clean. Everything we needed to cook was available and the nearby restaurants are a short walk away. 👍

40th Birthday Party and Bourbon Trail

The Bonnycastle was perfect for our group of 8 adults (4 couples) to enjoy catching up and hang out. The location was ideal to walk to restaurants, coffee shops, and bars. Noche, just a couple blocks south on Bardstown Road was our favorite! We enjoyed the fire pit each night and loved the second floor kitchen and bourbon tasting room. Plenty of parking, safe neighborhood, kind neighbors and no issues being a bit noisy in the evening. Great time! Thank you!

Great house in a terrific location!

We rented the entire house for 10 days! Grandparents located on the first floor, parents on the second and grandchildren/3 children ages 13, 16 & 18 on the third floor. Was a great arraignment regarding space for all ages. Kitchens were gas and very nice to use and clean. 2 nd floor kitchen was extra nice with Italian range, hood and dishwasher (super quiet). Color palette in house was well done. Bathrooms were upgraded and had great showers. LG washer/dryer were high capacity! Our experience with Tony was very good and responsive, we truly enjoyed our time there and in a great area to walk to a gray coffee shop on the corner and restaurants in the area.

Wonderful Home in a Fantastic Neighborhood

Big, beautiful home in a fun, lively neighborhood of Louisville. We loved the Victorian charm of the house with all the modern amenities. Since it's sometimes rented out as two apartments, it has two kitchens and two living rooms, but that suited us (two families with two young girls) just fine. Each of our girls had their own rooms on the third floor, one couple on the second floor, and the other on the first. We loved the huge yard, outdoor seating, and the girls loved the tree in the back. Parking was easy and ample. The rooms were well appointed and the beds comfortable. The house came with linens and towels and plenty of soap/shampoo for our use. Nest thermostats allowed for climate control. The upstairs unit had a dishwasher and the washer/dryer in it. Check in and check out was a breeze. Now onto the neighborhood: really walkable, great restaurants and shops. We loved having a great coffee shop (Safai) right on the corner. Food wise, we enjoyed The Eagle (14 min walk), Mark's Feed Store (6 min walk), Superchefs (esp with kids, 3 min walk). We also tried the pizza at Impellizzeri's (Tony's rec) - delicious! and the Mexican food at Sol Aztecas for takeout. We took the girls to Purrfect Day Cat Cafe (4 min walk), just a couple of blocks away - they loved getting a chance to play with the cats. The adults in our crew also had a few great drinks at Darling's cocktail bar (5 min walk). We found the folks at Old Town Liquors (5 mins) to be very knowledgeable and helpful and they had a fantastic selection. A Kroger nearby makes groceries easy too. Oh, and we had fun perusing the record and used book shops on Bardstown. We loved the proximity to area attractions. Most of the downtown things were a quick 12-15 drive, so we were able to get to the Slugger Museum, the Muhammad Ali Center, the Science Center, and the downtown bourbon spots without issue. Churchill Downs & Cave Hill Cemetery were also just a quick drive away. We had considered staying at a hotel downtown, but I have to say, we are very glad that we ended up in the Bonnycastle/Deer Park area instead. We were able to take quick trips downtown and then come back to "home base" for a more walkable, neighborhood-y feel. Tony was *very* responsive to our questions the whole time, and sought to make sure we had a great stay at every turn. We would definitely stay at Tony's place again if we ever found ourselves back in the Louisville area.
