Great historic home in a perfect location! We really enjoyed our stay. Looking online beforehand, the location seemed a little intimidating, but it turned out to be perfect. You are right in the heart of Butchertown with a ton of shops, restaurants, and craft breweries within walking distance. It’s also only 1.5 miles to the waterfront, 10 minutes to the Louisville Slugger Museum, and 20 minutes to Churchill Downs. It's slightly far from the distilleries, but being so central to everything else made up for it.The house itself has so much character! It is an older historic property, but beautifully refinished and well put together. The kids absolutely loved the game rooms. Even with traffic outside, the home is so well insulated that it was quiet inside and felt very safe.A few quick critiques for future guests: The parking is a bit awkward, though typical for a city rental. There also weren't quite enough towels provided for a large group, specifically hand towels and washcloths for the kitchen and extra bath towels. Lastly, the stairs are quite steep as is common in historic homes. We traveled with a 1, 2, and 3-year-old (plus three older kids) and had no issues, but you'll just want to be mindful with toddlers.Overall, a very nice house!
