Bourbon Tour Vacation

We enjoyed staying here. It is conveniently located and the owner was very nice. The inside was clean and comfortable, although starting to look a little worn out. There are plenty of kitchen items, but could use more towels. Suggest adding towel bars in the bathrooms. The outside of the house is shabby and desperately in need of some cleanup and landscape maintenance. But, overall, we were pleased with our stay.

When the description indicated - “working farm” we were unaware that would mean to enjoy theproperty you would need to work the property to ensure you could enjoy it. Sarcasm aside, asindividuals that appreciate rustic charm, the outdoors and spacious farm area, we canunderstand that rural living does not always permit for manicured lawns, well kept flower beds orthe visibility of the presence of outdoor animals and wildlife. This property is so far beyond thepoint of rustic charm and represents a sheer lack of care, maintenance, upkeep and basicproperty adoration. It is not at all close to even what was photographically depicted, describedor contractually represented on VRBO or through Evolve. The appearance and condition of thisproperty in comparison to EVERY other property we have rented through VRBO, does not meetlisting requirements, safety concerns or overall renter appeal. We highly recommend that yourevisit this site for further recommendations and evaluation of rental standards. This propertyhas diminished our trust and your credibility for any future rentals through Evolve or VRBO.

Loved the neighborhood

The house was plenty lg enough for 10 of us and very clean! Although the cleaning lady was still there til 6:30! 2 of the rooms only had curtains on the doors! Looks like maybe they were a sitting room and office area but very doable! The yard could have been kept up a little better but has a nice shade tree out front where we spent our evening! A little strange at first to have an owners son living in the basement but worked out because we needed a repair. The homeowner was very easily reached and was very nice! The girls and I walked every night on the street and was low traffic and just the right amount of hilly! Very nice location!

Photos and listing misleading

This property was not welcoming or even ready for guests. The long driveway had not been plowed after the snow a week prior, keycode did not work on front door and MANY deficiencies inside the home. (Cracked and missing floor tiles, doors that won’t close, light switches not working, etc) Appliances or light fixtures not in working order or even missing. The property owner seemed bothered when I reached out and couldn’t help much as he was across the country. I was surprised to find the home did not actually have 5 bedrooms, but really only 3 and the formal sitting room and office made into rooms. This was conveniently left out of the photos in the listing. The house has way more furniture than the photos show and had many rooms locked off that were shown open in The listing.I’ve stayed at many many VRBOs and this was shockingly disappointing. I saw a review from a year prior listing some of these same things with a solid respond mentioning fixing them- that was not true. The same issues and small problems were there. I would not stay here again or suggest it to anyone I know

Do not book

I wrote the company Friday and I have yet to hear back from them. The corners were filthy, missing knobs in the cabinets, missing top sheets on some of the beds, no towels in the bathrooms (had to call the local host to be directed to a linen closet that barely had enough towels for the number of guests we had), beer and drinks left in the fridge from previous renter, front door didn’t lock properly, AND there was someone living in the basement. I rented the entire house- there was a note in the posting that the basement was under renovation- not that there was someone living there. This individual also had a hockey mask hanging from their rearview mirror like Jason. Not impressed, a terrible experience, complete like of cleanliness.

Wonderful!

This is a super nice house with lots of potential. It is obvious it is still under renovation, but that did not affect anything about our stay. It was cozy, quiet and has lots of space! The owner was very friendly and easy to reach. New internet was put in on our first day there and worked beautifully. It’s out from town on quite a bit of land, but a close drive to most area attractions! Deer visited us daily. It was clean and very comfortable! The outside still needs some work, but we could tell they were working on it. A few notes for future guests: 1. Don’t judge the house by the outside at all. It’s such a pretty place. It is not perfect since they are working on it, but it is very nice and comfortable. 2. Watch the front steps. The distance from the last step up to the porch was steep and difficult for my mom. We improvised, but she did have a hard time getting up on to the porch. 3. The views are beautiful! I hope as the back deck is redone, they will add some outdoor seating. There are a few barstools on the “smoking patio” but some seating on the deck when it’s done or on the front porch would be amazing. We would have spent most of our time out there watching the deer! 4. There are no curtains or blinds in the upstairs bedrooms. There are privacy screens so no one can see in. Lots of natural light comes in, even at night. Carry a sleep mask if you need dark at night. We would definitely stay again and would most definitely rent again from this owner!!

Kentucky Wedding

Our stay was very enjoyable here. The wifi was down but after speaking with the Host and cable company, it turned out to be a tower issue but that made the best family time we've had in a long time. No distractions of TV's, tablets, etc. Plenty of room for all of us to come together as a group or nap without being disturbed.

Potential

This property has potential to be great but needs the renovations completed. There rubbish outside the property and the torn down fence is an immediate eye sore. Two of the bedrooms are not true bedrooms. They are sitting areas with no doors that have beds in them. Causing some of my guest to get hotels for privacy. The kitchen sink is deplorable and unusable. The odor from the garbage disposal wrecks throughout the house, which already had a stinch that you could smell over the thousand plugins. The house was overcrowded with odds and ends from yard sales. There were holes in the floor and an old rug was taped down. The furniture was old and felt sticky. The three bedrooms were ok but definitely hadnt been cleaned as there were dead bugs and dust everywhere. The fact that the temparature was controlled by the owners was absurb. There were noticeable major improvements and updates to the home but the outstanding renovations took away from the stay. 6 out of 10 of us only stayed because we couldnt get a refund and didnt want to pay for a hotel. New furniture, cleaning, and finished renovations would make this the jewel advertised. I suggest not renting again until then!

Ultimate Rental

My company had business in Shelbyville for about a week. Our team had nothing to say but a 10 plus on everything! To bad it was a business trip! Absolutely awesome place. I could go on & on, but I'm sure you understand! The owner was very responsive, and helpful with getting to, an in the home! (10+)
