Bad experience
We usually stay in the village hotels in Liverpool and Chester but we decided to use the Leeds one . We arrived late due to family commitments and was given our room key . We entered our room The bed wasn’t made and when I looked there was blood all over the sheets and duvet cover . There was a blood trail from the bed into the bathroom too . I called the manager who came and changed our room as well as take pictures of the room state . I’ve contacted village hotels via email since to complain and see if there was anything they could help with or offer us . Was told I’d have a response in 48 hours that was 4 weeks ago! Leeds facility is supposed to be one of the better village hotels . But for us it was the worst .

The bathroom was flooded when we arrived, reported but no one came to fix. Next morning had a shower which water flooded floor and outside door as i guess drain is not good as disabled room. reported again was offered to speak manager or free coffee, but had to get in with the day so refused, other wise room nice few bashes items but clean.

Check in Palaver
Nice hotel with comfortable bed and spacious rooms. Two things which could be improved firstly there is a £5 per night parking charge which I can understand if you're in a City centre but there is nothing around this hotel it's on an industrial estate. Secondly the self check in is such an unnecessary process. It's not user friendly and takes ages after a long drive is something you could do without. However all the staff I spoke to were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, standard buffet similar to most chain hotels with adequate choice. Evening meal menu was also good with plenty of choice at reasonable prices. I would stay again but please sort the check in process.

If you book directly then most our rates include parking and access to our leisure facilities. Again, I am very sorry to hear you do not like the style of our check in. This is a system we have been using for a number of years and allows us to gather all data and any payments successfully. I understand it is not everyones idea of a good system. We had a very enjoyable stay at the Village Hotel. There was plenty of parking which was free after 5pm Friday for the weekend. The check in staff were very friendly and helpful and offered us complimentary mince pies and mulled wine! Our room was large and comfortable with plenty of storage space. The bathroom was also quite large and modern. Breakfast was tasty with a good amount of choice. We would definitely use this hotel if we are in the area again.

Enjoyable stay with a few niggles
Good amount of parking which was free over the weekend. Bed was comfortable, no flat pillows. Unfortunately, the shower seal was broken and water was all over the bathroom floor everytime we had a shower. Room appeared a little dated - broken lamp, chips on doors etc. Good sized pool with sauna and steam room, which we paid a little extra for but was worth it! Breakfast was very average, but Starbucks was also available on site.

Spacious comfortable room. Reasonably good breakfast and good gym facilities but both at extra cost. Handy having a Starbucks onsite too. Attentive hosts in meeting areas too. Easy to get to from motorways etc but not particularly city centre.
