Great Extended Family Stay
This property is perfect for our extended family. Rain or shine it works fine for our preschool and early elementary school grandkids. There are lots of places for everyone to gather, as well as get away for quiet time. It’s also fun to go wine tasting nearby.

Perfect space for a retreat!
We hosted a yoga retreat at Langley Retreat Center. We all loved our stay, and our guests said their rooms were beautiful, clean, and very comfortable. They enjoyed their stay and the retreat, and asked us to host another one here. As hosts of this retreat, we only had positive experiences. Lara and her team made sure everything we needed was ready for us. She had all the yoga props we needed prepared. There is a beautiful space for 12 people to practice yoga. She answered all our questions in a timely manner. We will definitely be booking this beautiful home and retreat center again.

Lovely Retreat for Relaxation
We enjoyed our stay at the Langley Retreat Center. We felt so at home - maybe even more rested and restored. The home was clean, fully stocked in the kitchen and living room, including yoga props. Some guests enjoyed the baby grand piano too. The rooms/beds were very comfortable. Excellent location close to the center of town and island exploration. We plan to rebook for another retreat weekend.

Great Place
A wonderful place for friends or family. Each bedroom is nicely furnished and has an in-suite bathroom. The kitchen is huge and has everything needed for any sized group. Deer were on the property eating fruit from the trees every day.

Great property for large family gathering
The property and location were perfect for our extended family's stay for our daughter's wedding. We spent almost all our time in the kitchen or on that fabulous patio. We grilled a couple evenings including the last night when 25 straggler guests and family members joined us for one last celebration. Everyone loved all the wild life - lots of deer (including a buck) and raccoon! We enjoyed badminton and corn hole. It was great having such a large house and big bedrooms - people were able to escape and get much needed sleep and naps as fit their schedules. It's a great spot - thanks again for all your work to make us feel welcome!"

Extraordinary Experience !!!
We gathered extended family at this gorgeous property. It is hard for me to describe how perfect it was for our family. There is lots of beautifully designed space which allows a larger group to spread out but then there is a central area with a simply glorious kitchen (truly unreal), a huge beautiful table for all to gather and then outdoor space to spread out in. The kitchen is beautifully equipped and easy to use and the outdoor space has a huge grill and more tables. We loved the fire pit at night. I could go on and on. Suffice it to say that we have stayed in many properties over many years and this is the best of all. The property owner and manager were also extraordinary in their help and responsiveness. Many thanks for a fabulous stay!!!

Amazing venue for a women’s retreat
Our yoga retreat group loved our star at Lara’s place. The property is gorgeous and perfect for large groups. Communication with the host was very easy throughout our stay. The place felt like home!

Tacoma Qigong Getaway
Our four day stay with ten friends was nothing short of spectacular in this lovely home. The owner and manager were so easy to communicate with, checking often to make sure we had everything we needed. The bedrooms were large with very comfy beds...the best sleep I've had in a long while. The kitchen was well-stocked with several gourmet meals prepared by our chef friend. Lots of room to sit in the evening altogether and read. So lucky to have found this home!

Great for Group Travel!
What a wonderful property! The private bedrooms plus the shared spaces made our 11 person group vacation so enjoyable. We loved having the instruments to play, the piano itself brought hours of joy! These were the most comfortable beds and bedding that any of our group has encountered in a hotel or B&B. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

A Fairytale Estate
This property is exquisite! The home itself boasting beautiful suites most would be unaccustomed to experiencing, and every room leaves you feeling like you are living a fairytale. Lara and Jennifer were also exceptional. Both treated us like family with an attention to detail like no other. We will always remember our fabulous stay at Langley Retreat and look forward to visiting again in the future. Quite frankly, it was the nicest place we have ever enjoyed.

Yoga Retreat
The Langley Retreat was absolutely perfect to host a Yoga retreat. All the bedrooms were wonderful and the kitchen was magnificent. I had a private cook for the event and she exclaimed the kitchen was perfect. The grounds are spacious and there was plenty of room for the participants to gather and also have their own space. I would highly recommend the Langley Retreat house.

Fabulous time at Langley Retreat for our 3 generation celebration of grandma’s birthday. All really didn’t want to leave the property! Highlights included the old-fashioned kitchen with an industrial stove and plenty of space for sous-chefs to chop veggies and create homemade desserts with blackberries picked on island. The L-O-N-G farmers table in the adjoining dining area graciously accommodated not only family meals but also children coloring and playing games at the other end. Most of the time though, the children happily remained in the play room where there were more toys and games than they possibly could tackle….and so much space outside for them to run around and create their own games. The 5 and 7 year-old grandkids loved the deer standing on hind legs to reach fruit in the trees. The bunnies were a hit with our 2 year-old. The fire pit was fun for campfires and s’mores, thanks to the kit graciously left by Lara, the property owner (who left also a fishing rod for our grandson - I had mentioned that he liked to fish). There is a veranda or loggia, a lovely place to sit and relax, even if it started to sprinkle. At the end of the week, the children were still discovering new nooks and crannies in the lodge; one 5 year-old tucked herself behind the stairs to play a guitar and serenade us with original music. The lodge was a perfect vacation choice place for hide and seek, both indoors and outdoors.

Amazing, magical family reunion with the best sleep!
The Langley Retreat is even more amazing in person. We had 15 family members in our group, and everyone found a comfy place to relax, play, chat, and eat during our stay. The bedrooms are fabulous, five with amazingly comfortable king beds. Kitchen was well appointed and we really appreciated having a second kitchen for overflow and family who wanted to keep their food safe :) The grounds are beautiful. Kids had so much fun on the trampoline, playing hide and seek, on the swing set. We saw deer multiple times. Tons of outdoor seating areas. It was really the perfect place for our family reunion. Jennifer, the property manager, was beyond responsive. She was over within 10 minutes after a kid locked us out of a room and answered all my questions super promptly. We love Langley as a getaway spot, and this retreat is spectacular. Would love to stay here again - there's really nothing like it!

I wish I could live here
The pictures do not do this property justice. We rented this home in July for an annual reunion of friends. Upon walking into the house our friends kept exclaiming how amazing the house was and congratulated me on finding it. We had 11 adults and one small child. Everyone had a room and there was extensive space in the home to find a private nook to recharge away from the gathering. The huge kitchen table was perfect for fitting everything to dine, as well as breaking out multiple boardgames. The house is separated into two wings (with a kitchen in each) as well as an optional caretakers suite that extends into the perfect kids space. In our case, it was perfect for a very private couple that needed a more private retreat and was also handicap accessible with no stairs or high clearance shower pans. This is the first VRBO rental I have seen that has been this well stocked. We did not lack for coffee or tea service and there were many sets of dishes and silverware. Tons of blankets to ward off the chill. Basic dry goods and other pantry items were available. The grounds were breathtaking. We all enjoyed the landscaping, outdoor patio (the macrame swing chair was everyone's favorite), the pond, and the abundant wildlife that would come to feast on fallen cherries. We were greeted with our own bowl of cherries harvested from trees on the property. We were able to enjoy some sea kayaking and visit town. We highly recommend Braeburn Restaurant during your visit. We ate there twice. This was truly a relaxing and enjoyable vacation and no one wanted to leave. The cherry on top is the owner and highly responsive property manager. We had a small issue with a kitchen sink faucet which they promptly came to fix the next morning. I had also accidentally left a pair of shoes which they found and offered to send back to me. I can't recommend this place and the owner high enough.

Wonderful space for multiple families
We loved our stay! After two years of solo trips we travelled with two other families and stayed here for a week for the Fourth of July. The house has so much space for everyone to spread out, a giant kitchen, a private and comfortable outdoor space, and plenty of bathrooms. We loved the kids play area, the tadpoles in the ponds, the proximity to Langley, and the covered back porch. The house has character and has some pieces that may be tempting for smaller kiddos (harp, antiques), but ours were so happy to run around with friends that they stayed distracted. The rooms were quiet and we didn’t hear each other at night, plus all of the rooms are away from the play area and kitchen which helped with early morning wake ups. We would definitely like to come back!

We were thrilled with the Langley Retreat for our family gathering. Plenty of room and a bed for everyone. Having 2 kitchens was a real bonus and the wisteria covered patio space was lovely and accommodated our large family. I highly recommend the Retreat for families and larger groups.
