After we checked in @ the front desk we went to our room & immediately noticed the TV was programmed in Spanish & the closed captioning was not working at all. We both speak English & my wife is deaf so the close captioning is a NECESSITY for her & not a luxury. I went to front desk asap & had another one of the employees come to fix this problem. He couldn’t get the remote control to properly program the TV so he went downstairs to the get a new remote control. He came up to the room with a new remote but that didn’t fix the problem. The original person we checked into the hotel said that she would try to find us a room that had a properly functioning TV in English with the close captioning working. She located a similar room but upon turning on the TV in that room the identical issue of the TV programmed in Spanish and no functioning closed caption occurred in this room as well. I asked this front desk employee what other options she might have but nothing was offered. I asked her if I could get a refund for the lack of access to a TV with closed captioning since the property had advertised this on the 3rd party website . She said I’d have to talk to the manager @ check out the following morning. Upon checking out I personally spoke to the manager who stated that since I made the reservation through a 3rd party website she could not make any refunds or adjustments. She stated that I would have to contact them myself. Lack of compassion for people with hearing disabilities
