Upon checking in, the gentleman at the counter was courteous for the most part. I was informed at check in that there would be a $100 cash deposit that would be refunded at check out upon inspection of the room. This was totally new to me. I used the ATM, to get cash and gave it to the clerk.
The room was decent at first glance. It’s a motel room, expectations were not super high. However, before bed, I noticed the bed skirt was very dirty and stained. During the night, there was loud arguing and fighting in the room next door. It stopped after about 5 minutes.
The absolute worst part of the stay was at check out. When I went to checkout, the front desk was empty with a sign saying to leave your key. Since I needed my refund, I called the number on the sign. A woman answered and instructed me to leave me key. I told her I needed my refund. She asked which room and I told her. My son was still gathering his stuff and had not existed the room with me. I waited about 10 minutes and called the number after my son joined me in the lobby. I told the woman that I was still waiting for her to refund my deposit. She immediately started yelling and telling me that my room isn’t the only one she had to check and that when she went to inspect the room my son was still there. She told me I had to wait and hung up the phone.
When she finally appeared at reception, she continued to be rude, dismissive and loud.
