This is Lanai’s most notable landmark and the setting for one of Hawaii’s epic legends.
Story goes a hottie princess from Maui was "captured" by a young warrior from Lanai. He made her his wife and he was so smitten with her beauty and... apparently so insecure that he was afraid to let other men see her so kept her in a sea cave near the rock when he was away. One day the weather suddenly changes, the surf slams the area, and... yup, one less princess. The warrior rushed back to the cave, but it was too late, he climbed the steep rock where he buried her in a tomb and then overcome with grief leapt to his death.

Moral of story might be... um, don't abduct women and lock them in caves.

„Beautiful view and good responsive management. When we arrived it was not cleaned but they were quick to respond and waived cleaning fee. The unit is spacious with beautiful ocean views but there was no AC and it has a bug problem and should be fumigated. "Das Zimmer war in einem ordentlichen Zustand. Allerdings war im ersten Zimmer ein sehr starker Gestank und wir haben schnell ein anderes erhalten. Aber auch da war der Geruch recht unangenehm. Insbesondere, wenn die Klimaanlage lief. Das Frühstück war zum Glück im Preis enthalten (38 $ pro Person), aber nicht sehr reichhaltig. Es galt das Motto: Wenn weg, dann weg. Leider gibt es ein Vogelproblem und manchmal fliegen einem Tauben dicht über den Köpfen. Allgemein ist es sehr dreckig im Restaurant umd man hat den Eindruck, das selten richtig sauber gemacht wird.
