Introducing Hacienda del Sol, one of the newest high-end vacation rental homes in the Santa Fe, NM market, as featured on Vrbo.

Beautiful sunrises, sunsets, the Milky Way, great hiking trails, and total privacy. Hacienda del Sol is a spectacularly furnished 3500 sq ft vacation home in Lamy that borders a 2000 acre reserve, just 20 minutes south of Canyon Road and the Santa Fe Plaza. Santa Fe is known for its vibrant art community, and the famed Canyon Rd has some of the best galleries in the world.

Open Concept

Our home features an open concept living and dining area, a huge king bed master suite, and two beautiful guest bedrooms (one king, one queen) at the opposite end of the house. Dine outdoors and enjoy spectacular views from either the front or back patios.

Located in Lamy, NM

Hacienda del Sol is located in an area called Lamy, just south of the city, where a train station was built in 1881 to serve (as it still does) passengers going to Santa Fe. Today, next to the train station, the historic Legal Tender Saloon and Eating House has reopened and is considered to be one of Santa Fe's best and certainly most unique restaurants.

Amenities

Direct TV premium channels on state of the art Smart TVs, a dedicated office space, high speed internet, a professional grade exercise bike, natural gas grill, and an extra large outdoor Breeo fire pit are just some of the amenities in our home. Top grain leather sofas and chairs are complemented by great artwork and antique vintage rugs from different parts of the world. Much of the furniture is handmade. A supermarket, a small shopping center, and some excellent restaurants are 5 minutes away in the El Dorado complex.

Well behaved dogs are welcome (2 max). Aggressive breed dogs are prohibited by the local HOA. We have a large breed dog door installed with access to our fenced back yard. At renter's option, the door flap can be blocked off. No cats are permitted.

Our home is 5 minutes away from one of the greatest dog friendly hiking preserves in America – the 10,000 acre Galisteo Basin Preserve.

Attractions

Golfers are welcome to use our professional sets of clubs (one mens, one ladies) if you would like to play golf while staying with us. There are a number of public courses within an hour drive of our house. Black Mesa is about 40 minutes north on the road to Taos and is listed as the #4 course in the state. The #1 course in the state is one hour south – Paako Ridge Golf Club.

One of the fun new adventures is an evening on our local railroad, the Sky Railway.

Climb aboard and expect the unexpected as you travel the historic rail between Santa Fe and Lamy NM. Entertainers, music, great food, and drink await you on Sky Railway.

Ski Santa Fe has year round appeal with hiking, skiing/snowboarding, cross country and snowshoeing.

Lovely home perfect for family stay

Lovely home well appointed with art, comfortable beds and 2 enclosed yards perfect for your dog friend. Also there is a wonderful preserve nearby with many trails that we thoroughly enjoyed.

Just absolutely perfect!

We can't recommend Bob's place highly enough! It is located in a lovely, quiet neighborhood that was perfect for getting into Santa Fe easily and for walking our dog. The outdoor space offers two fenced in areas so our dog was in heaven! The house is well appointed and very clean. Bob is easy to communicate with and offers great recommendations. We loved sitting outside with our dog at Cafe Fina -- just 5 minutes down the road. Galisteo Basin Preserve is also close and offers an amazing trail system. We loved our stay! Thank you Bob!

Relaxing retreat

We are so glad to have chosen Bob’s house in Lamy. It is a short, easy drive to town. We wanted a quiet place to relax. It was very serene, yet within just a few minutes of groceries and some good restaurants in the nearby Eldorado neighborhood. It was a perfect fit for my husband, me and our two standard poodles. We had lots of room to spread out. With the desert terrain in Santa Fe, having TWO fenced-in yards with artificial grass was a blessing for us as dog owners. Yet there was no evidence of previous dogs ever being there. It was clean, well-decorated and well-equipped. It quickly felt like home, and we hated to pack up and leave. Bob was very communicative with us. He was extremely helpful and truly delightful. We would definitely stay here again in the future!

Lamy VRBO 2023

This was the best VRBO experience that we’ve had. The house is lovely and the host made everything available for our stay. I asked if he had a Bundt pan and puzzles- there was an Amazon package when we arrived with both. The house has a lovely private master wing, 2 additional comfortable bedrooms, and large well furnished kitchen and family rooms. Just great.

Amazing house, superb owner/host!

Wonderful home with everything needed for our week in the Santa Fe area! We hosted Thanksgiving for our family and found everything we needed in Bob and Lisa's home. Very comfortable, big spaces, super clean, extremely well-appointed, and a "cook's kitchen" (it has everything!) Great grocery store, gas station, and hardware store about 5-10 minutes away, and all the stores/restaurants in Santa Fe are only 20-25 minutes away if needed, but the house is in a quiet area that let's you see the stars at night! Amazing views also. Great communication with Bob the owner...we felt like we were staying at a friend's house, and that's the way Bob treated us...like friends! We'll stay here again when we come back to the Santa Fe area again! Thanks Bob and Lisa!

Beautiful House Tucked into the Foothills

This house was a big hit for us for many reasons. It was so clean and expansive and in one of my favorite parts of New Mexico. We have dogs so we absolutely loved having not only a fenced in yard, but TWO fenced in yards and one with a doggie door. I wasn't sure how they would take to the synthetic grass but because it gets warm when the sun hits it, my lab spent most of the day lolling out there sunbathing. The owner and manager are very responsive and got us some wood when the weather turned to snow so we could have a couple fires. Easy in and out and able to park our cars in the garage. We were up there to do some writing and we both had our corners to disappear to before we came together to make dinner in the very well stocked kitchen. I highly recommend this house. There were 2 bedrooms we didn't even use on the other side of the house so would be great for a bigger family. If you rent it, you won't regret it!

Very relaxing getaway

Property was as advertised - very clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay. Plenty of room to spread out. Kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed preparing meals in it. We happened to be there when it was quite cold so we didn't spend much time outside, but there were great sitting areas and yard for outdoor activities when warmer. Overwall, we would highly recommend!
