Great lakefront cottage
We had an excellent stay here- the description and photos are accurate and the overall process went really smoothly. I wish it was a little warmer so we could have enjoyed the water more, but we will definitely consider staying here again during the summer!

I can’t say enough great things about this cottage
A group of 4 adults, 2 toddlers and 2 dogs stayed at this beach cottage. The host was amazing. He really thinks of it all. The little details were appreciated and well thought out. The cottage has everything you need. Weather wasn’t the best but the hot tub and view made up for it. Shower was great. Beds were comfortable. Loved having fans and sound machines. Location is perfect. Close to so many things. Buddy’s was great to have next door. Food was good. The downtown was cute. Loved the bakery (best donuts ever), Terry’s, the library, parks, the list goes on. It’s so comforting coming into a clean cottage. Thank you for a wonderful weekend. Would definitely come back in the future.

They Thought of Everything
The pictures don't do it justice. We were very impressed. All the little touches were great. We really appreciated the maple syrup on the table when we walked in. Loved the house and all the comfy-ness of it! We needed some R & R and we got it. Loved the suggestions on the chalkboard of where to shop and where to eat. Lovely town, good shopping and good restaurants. Thank you for a great stay!

This house worked perfectly for my family. My mom is elderly and had no issues navigating through the house. The outside area is set up to perfection with cute little conversation areas. The owner had nice touches throughout the house to make it feel welcoming. We will be staying again for sure!!

Weekend getaway
Overall, very enjoyable. Lots of amenities and things to do. Only criticism was yard was fairly overgrown, lots of cobwebs on dock. Neighbors were very close. We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub, and sitting on the deck.

Hi Candy! We are glad to hear that you were able to enjoy yourselves so much despite the terrible weather! That unexpected stretch of cold and rain would sour nearly anyone. The Beach Cottage is in a fantastic location, being right in the heart of town, so close to everything. There are close neighbors (really awesome ones). Prior to each stay, we remove spiderwebs by hand, but more are spun of course! The lawn is mowed often, and the foliage around the edges is regularly trimmed. But, yes, true to cottage style, the borders and beds are more free form and not pristinely manicured. We will continue to work hard to improve the Beach Cottage experience in preparation for your next stay; see you then!

Great time
Love the summer house. Lake is warm and shallow so I don’t have to worry about the grandkids. Fun hot tub. Close to town (shopping) and restaurants. Our second year here and the kids want to know if we’re coming next year.

The pictures of the inside do not do this place justice. It is so beautiful. They think of everything to help make your stay very pleasant. Absolutely beautiful place and very clean. Asked for more wood. Was brought by in less than 15 mins. Would highly recommend this place for all. So relaxing. Bar & grill with bowling ally, right down the street.

Fun for all
The Beach Cottage had everything we needed and more. Our group enjoyed the boats, hot tub, games, ample sitting/eating space inside and outside, fire pit and nearby basketball and pickleball courts. There was something for everyone. The hosts had clear instructions on the house and information about nearby restaurants and activities. We also appreciated the completely fenced-in yard so that our dog could be outside with us off leash.

Perfection
We have stayed in many rentals and this was the most well equipped and cleanest of places. Jason truly has thought of everything when it comes to this cottage. Most places you go you have to bring extra toilet paper or towels and this had plenty of everything you need for your stay. I especially enjoyed the blueberry coffee! We ate at Buddy’s one night and it was pretty good. Also checked out the bakery/coffee shop, The Rusted Poppy, the chocolate store, and the antique shops. All were very nice and the pastries at the bakery were amazing!! The weather was cool when we were there, but the hot tub at night was amazing and so peaceful. It’s in a very quiet neighborhood and you can’t beat the view. Thank you, Jason!

Lil Get away '23
When we first arrived at the house and walked in, we were in awe. It was super clean, it's was furnished with EVERYTHING you need! They even had a welcome basket with graham crackers, marshmallows, and Hershey's for smores. The place was beautiful. The view was even better. I could definitely get used to waking up, looking out the patio doors at the beautiful lake. The place was amazing and we plan to come back for sure. The process was so simple! Very great 1st experience with VRBO!

Conveniently located relaxing getaway
We were amazed that everything we needed was available at this property, including a baby gate and life jackets of all sizes (we didn't think to bring a gate for my 1 year old and forgot his floaty!) We loved the view and enjoyed being on the water and eating smores. This place is perfect for families. The only downside would be the lack of privacy for those who aren't sleeping in the master bedroom (which we were aware of before booking,) and that the beds leave much to desire for comfort (master bed wasn't too bad). Otherwise this is a dream vacation spot and the host was more accommodating and informative than at any other rental we've stayed at! We plan to book again in the future ❤

Relaxing Getaway
We stayed three nights at the Beach Cottage on a short family vacation and it was perfect. Having rented properties in Fort Lauderdale, Panama City, the Gulf Shores, Door County etc. we've always needed to bring something - coffee, or extra towels, or detergent etc. - but Jason had everything covered. In fact he had the little things covered and then some, we brought our dog and he even had some dog towels and a sheet to cover the couch for our pup to join us for a movie. At check-in we found smores and pure maple syrup to greet us, that was such a nice welcoming touch. It's a wonderfully maintained property, right on the lake (good for swimming) and only steps away from Buddy's for food and a cocktails. We walked to Carl's grocery store a few times, grilled at the house, enjoyed the hot tub and used both the paddle boards and kayaks daily. Don't hesitate to reserve the Beach Cottage, you will not be disappointed - it was a very relaxing family vacation. Thank you Jason and family for opening up your house to our family, we really enjoyed our time at your place.

Relaxing and peaceful vacation
We had a great time at the lake cottage. We spent the majority of time on the lovely deck reading, eating, hot tubbing, and visiting with family. We enjoyed the kayaks and paddle boards as well. The house had everything we needed and there was plenty of room for the 5 of us. We loved walking to the park that had an amazing playground for my 6 year old and continuing into town to look at the antique mall and get ice cream of course. The only downside was they came and sprayed in the water one day and we weren’t allowed to go in the water for an entire day which was a big disappointment but we made the best out of it. All in all in was wonderful and we’d definitely go back again.

This was our first Vrbo rental and we were a little nervous about it. Our host Jason answered all our questions quickly. The "cottage" (as we now call it) is extremely clean and organized. We immediately felt at home. We were treated to a welcome package by the owners which was endearing. The host provides a binder with lists of restaurants, activities, local sites etc along with a fun chalk board with recommendations. We were able to kayak, swim at the cottage or walk 3 doors down to the kid friendly beach. Buddy's restaurant and bowling alley is 3 doors down, lots of fun for the family. This rental has EVERYTHING you forgot to pack. Need a colander? a cork screw? They have it. We would highly recommend this rental and we plan to return next year.

Relaxing Fun Family Getaway
This was absolutely the family kind of vacation that builds memories! The house was immaculately cleaned with very comfortable clean bedding, adequate towels, and ornate detail. We enjoyed the very well maintained hot tub, cozy campfires that came complete with wood and smores supplies, kayaking on the water, docking our personal boat, and beautiful days on the deck overlooking the lake. We were able to walk to get icecream in the evenings, play a few games of bowling, enjoy the kids play area. It was a wonderful 2022 Vacay Home for us!!!! Great location right on the lake with beautiful views! Loved the deck that extended over the water to be able to enjoy my morning coffee. Really appreciated that it was pet friendly inside and outside with the fenced in backyard so we could bring our dog with. The cottage was very spacious for the 5 of us plus a large dog. Quintessential Michigan Lakefront Experience
This cottage is perfectly set up for your family gathering and reconnect. Jason and his family have left nothing out! No skimpy, inferior, "cottage" cookware. We enjoyed cooking on solid All-Clad cookware and a good gas range. All the basics are covered: basic spices, coffee, creamer, sugar, ketchup, shampoo, soaps. Now the fringes! Firepit with firewood and starters, forks for hotdog roasting and smores. Kayaks and paddleboards, life jackets and snorkel stuff. Tons of games to choose from for all ages. So much outside seating and a hot tub too! The best thing for our group was the long table that you see in the photos that let our group sit together and share food. I really cannot say enough positive. The owners provided a comprehensive notebook of area attractions and restaurants. More than just menus and flyers shoved in a sleeve; they took the time to write up information on each place recommended, why it is suggested and just what you should order! Seriously, if you are looking for a great family getaway, consider this one!

What an excellent get-away close to home
Jason (and family) had such an amazing property for a large group like ours to stay at. The location of the property was on prime waterfront with a beautiful dock. Dock seemed quality enough to dock a full sized boat to. House is fully stocked with amenities and tons of towels, sheets, bedding, etc. dog and pet friendly with dog gates provided to block access off to certain areas of the house. Would recommend 10000x

Mothers Day family weekend

Jason and the family were beyond wonderful hosts! They were great about communication, had the house wonderfully stocked and clean for us upon arrival (even left a gift). We unfortunately had rain on and off throughout our weekend but it was a treat to just hang out in the house, enjoy buddy's right down from the house, and sit in the hot tub. We wanted a quick get away before school started and this place was perfect for that. We spent most days using the paddle boards, kayaks, and canoes. We visited a few places (Grand Rapids, Grand Ledges), but basically took it easy. The house had everything we needed and the host was very kind and great with communication.

FANTASTIC COTTAGE
Our family stayed here because our daughter got married in Vermontville, MI. This cottage was absolutely perfect. It was an oasis in the craziness of the wedding. The cottage is adorable, spotless, spacious and truly charming. Jason has provided everything you need and then some! He is very welcoming. My grandson and I swam in Jordan Lake each day and we were able to join around the large table each evening for dinner and games. I would not hesitate one bit to book here again. (but next time have the time to use all the many lake toys) It was magical and truly wonderful stay.

Perfect cottage in a perfect location!
My family of four (kids are 5 and 7) and dog just returned from a long holiday weekend at the Beach Cottage. These hosts are really experts in ensuring a wonderful experience. The cottage’s interior design is memorable and special without being tacky. It is impeccably clean, hot tub included. Our kids were delighted with the welcome gift to make s’mores and I appreciated the fresh flowers. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to cook all but one meal at the property. We ordered carry out from Buddy’s on the Beach that night and loved it. The Cottage website is lovely, really easy to navigate and contains loads of helpful information about staying at the property. The public beach is a 45-second walk and the sand is perfect for playing. The beach water smelled gross and was sorta mucky when we were there but the lake was lovely and clean further out. I highly recommend a visit to the Main Street Ice Cream Shop - 15 minute walk or two minute drive. The village playground is really big, clean, and shady. The hiking path that starts at the high school is awesome. We hiked it twice. This was a perfect location and Cottage for a sunny long weekend with my family. Highly recommend.

Great Lake cottage
We were looking for a weekend getaway for my husband’s birthday & we are so happy we found this lake cottage! It was a relaxing weekend for our small family (me, my husband ,11 year old son) & our dog. The view of the lake inside & out is beautiful! We enjoyed many of the provided amenities...row boat, kayaks, hot tub. We skipped the stand up paddle boards b/c we were afraid of falling into the cold lake, but they are available to use! There are plenty of board games which we played in the evening & we watched movies. There are convenient restaurants so we ordered carry out for every meal. There was so much to keep us busy at the cottage, we didn’t really venture out. Maybe next time. The owners thought of everything inside & out. I can’t think of anything we were missing! We would definitely rent again. Thank you Jason & family for sharing your lake cottage!

Perfect WFH Covid getaway
We enjoyed the most relaxing weekend! Everything was incredibly clean, wonderful view, and good WiFi to take some zoom calls. Jason laid out the most thoughtfully detailed guidebook, including reviews of each restaurant in the area. The hot tub was perfect and the kitchen is well equipped with gadgets to make your own meals! Would definitely stay again.

Perfect getaway spot
Spent Thanksgiving here with wife and kids. Great layout and plenty of time in the hottub before and after turkey. I bet it’s even better in the summer. Recommend for all.
