What a special place, nothing generic about it. As for location, walk out the front door to the sidewalk and downhill you see open ocean. Walk downhill, maybe a quarter mile and you can visit either the beach or parts of downtown. While I drove to Ralph's supermarket, it is walkable as well.
The cottage is older with modern eclectic furnishings.. There is cool artwork and photographs, a great book collection and all the amenities like plentiful soft towels, a well stocked kitchen, nice toiletries, shower with good water pressure, and plenty of light to read and work by.
The crown jewel of this place is a surprising large terraced yard with a brick patio covered by a large pergola dripping with vines. Around the patio and throughout the yard are hundreds of plants, fragrant and colorful, some potted, some planted. There are also ceramic art pieces. Round lights are strung across the pergola which lend a magical feeling at night.
If you need spanky new, this isn't the place for you. The bathroom has some cracked tiles and the refinishing on the tub has worn away in spots but the total effect is well cared for and updated to be cool, charming and comfortable
