The moment you walk into this lovely home you will be transported to paradise. Experience sweeping views of the ocean during the day and the twinkling lights of the City of San Diego at night. Fall asleep to the sound of the waves crashing on the bluffs below, and spend the sunny La Jolla days on either of the two large decks overlooking the ocean. Watch the surfers and the kite surfers as you look for the dolphins and seals that swim by, or take the short walk to the beach and explore the tide pools at low tide. Starbucks, restaurants, and unique shopping are just a short stroll away.

Just bring your suitcase, because everything else has been provided. The furnishings are bright and comfortable with a fireplace in the living room along with a top-of-the-line entertainment center that includes a new HDTV and iPod connection. There is a separate dining room with walls of windows and 180-degree views of the ocean to enjoy a cozy meal with family or friends. The kitchen has new appliances and everything even the most experienced chef would need at his or her disposal.

The main bedroom has panoramic views of the ocean with a new California king-size bed and a new HDTV. An attached main bath with a new tile floor and a connecting built-in custom closet with lots of storage space complete the main retreat. The second bedroom, which also could be the main suite, has a beautiful wrought-iron queen-size bed with a built-in custom closet, a new HDTV, and a connecting bathroom. The third bedroom also has sweeping views of the ocean and a brand new king bed along with a built-in custom closet. The bathroom is across the hall.

There is plenty of closet and storage space throughout the house. A separate laundry room houses a washer and dryer. Enjoy the outside shower, new barbecue, and a fire pit on one deck to watch the city lights at night and roast a marshmallow or two. Teak outdoor furniture with a dining table that seats guests all under a patio deck cover so you can enjoy the outdoors under shade cover or work on your tan in the sun. A one-car garage and plenty of room to store bikes, surfboards, and toys is available for extra storage, along with plenty of additional parking on a quiet street.

The nearest beach for sunbathing, surfing, and swimming is Tourmaline Beach. A quick stroll up the street to a staircase will lead you down to a smaller beach perfect for tide pooling among the rocks. If stairs pose a problem, you can access the beach from the Tourmaline Surfing Park parking lot, located just a brisk walk away, or a short drive south of the home. This is truly a fabulous and luxurious oceanfront retreat. You'll never want to leave!

If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us. The pet fee is per stay and ranges between $150 and $200, depending on the bedroom count, and will apply for each additional dog.

Graduation amd anniversary vacation

It was a nice experience with the location. Didnt expect to be on such a high cliff. Had to walk to the beach through the neighborhood. I attached some photos of grievances that i feel would make it better. Some are fixes that should be addressed. The back bush i feel should be cut down to get a way better view of everything. Would be very nice. Other pics are of loose steps that i almost fell over and broken tiles that my mother tripped on. Finally in my opinion for the price of renting this place, if i was the owner i would do a lot of updating.

We loved being out on the patio overlooking the ocean! From having our morning coffee and watching the fog lift, to watching the surfers and waves, to enjoying spectacular sunsets. Such a beautiful setting!

Perfect Vibe

Location and view are great, the rest not so much

If it weren’t for the location and view, no one would stay here. Everything was run down, including: bed mattresses were old and very uncomfortable, window drapes and blinds were tattered and dirty, electrical outlet in living room was hanging out of the wall, lounge chairs on back deck were broken and unusable, and we discovered too late there were ants in the living room which bit our dog numerous times. As others have said, the view is amazing and the neighborhood and location are wonderful. It’s too bad as with just a little TLC and small investment in updating the items mentioned, this place could be really fantastic.

4 days of bliss

A few spider webs and a musty smell on arrival but that's beach living. A few minutes of open windows and all good. We had 4 days here. The setting is fabulous and the sound of the waves unreal. Spent hours at the fire pit, two thumbs up there. Great neighborhood, anything and everything is close.

Beautiful Views and spacious

The location of this property is perfect. The views are gorgeous. The outside area facing the ocean is my favorite part. There's plenty of seating and the firepit is nice. The pictures on the listing are not accurate though, as the furniture is different. The queen room at the front of the house is extremely hot. Not sure if there are vents in there or not but the extra attached bathroom is nice. The home could use some TLC. New paint inside, update bathrooms, fix outlets, repair the hole in the wall in the hallway, etc. The overall space is nice and plenty of seating provided. At the front door were a few wasp nests and could pose a hazzard if people are allergic to bee stings. An exterminator would be helpful. Paper towels were not provided nor was extra toilet paper. As a host I would make sure essentials were provided. This home just needs some sprucing up and a little more love. It's a great property and is worthy of the investment. Thank you for the stay.

The cliff view was amazing, that’s about where it ends. The mattress was hard, there was only one roll of tp per bathroom, the coffee pot didn’t fit the bottom of the line coffee maker, there was weird (one use) powder shampoo, conditioner and body soap), no instructions or welcoming or suggestions Just not what we are used to from all of other VRBO hosts

La Jolla get-away

We booked this house for a memorial weekend family get-away. The house was as good as the online pictures. Amazing! Watching the surfers, chilling around the outdoor fire pit, and waking up to the sound of waves hitting the shore was pretty cool. Would definitely stay here again.

Not Even the Basics!

The view is the reason to book this property, its in the description! The windows hadn't been cleaned in several months, covered in bird poop, dirt, grime and water spots. I contacted Vacasa upon check-in to address the cleaning of the windows and provide hand-soap in all of the bathrooms. Handsoap was provided in the kitchen, (albeit watered down), and in only 2 of the 3 bathrooms. I figured these two request would be simple enough, given we were staying for 4 nights/5 days, and handsoap is pretty critical into today's covid world. Vacasa didn't respond until 8pm at night. I called the next morning, and spoke to a rep and was told a ticket was opened and would be addressed that day. We never heard from them. We called the following day, and were told they wouldn't be addressing the requests, "they needed to hire professional window cleaners and that they didn't provide hand soap." This was odd, given they hire professional cleaners to clean the residence and did provide some hand soap. We also would have never been told they weren't addressing it, had we not called. Customer Service?? In addition, there are several serious safety issues: -Terrible odor coming from the HVAC vents -Electrical outlets are loose throughout -Hot water is well beyond the limit and scalded my 80 year old father The property is outdated and run-down as many reviews state BUT the safety issues must be addressed and cannot be overlooked because there is a view (which is marred by the bird poop!).

Issues

The views were amazing, however the home itself was disgusting, very dirty. The dryer did not work so we were unable to do laundry. The AC only works in one bedroom. The shared bathroom sink faucet leaks on the right side and the left side faucet is frozen in place which means it does not work at all.

What to know before you book.

This is a good location for seeing San Diego. I'd recommend for people with pets or kids. The house is dated and gives a very "old" home feeling which you may see as dirty but it's very clean, just a house that has been left to just age but with pets and kids you won't stress about any accidents that might happen while on vacation. The mgmt company is very good with getting back to you but the internet and TV were not working at all while there and no offer of credit when asked for one which I think was fair to get given the fact they advertise access, and it just didn't work, they had faulty equipment, so I had to find a temporary location to work for one day. That was disappointing in their lack of empathy for the situation and will think twice if I book with that mgmt company in the future.

Great location and view, dated house

Overall, I'd recommend the place. Amazing location and view, and that's really what you're paying for. The house is pretty dated, though, and is a bit disappointing when you first walk in. The photos make it look nicer than it is (though the main common room is lovely). But I guess that's how it's still a semi-affordable rental.

Old house in an amazing area

Overall the stay was good, the location and view are perfect. You can't beat them. The house it self is definitely out dated and although that didn't bother our group that much, the AC did not properly cool the house. We were there doing hot August so the house got really hot during the day which was a little uncomfortable.

Missed Opportunity

Overall disappointing. This house has so much potential to be amazing! The view, layout and location are fantastic. Unfortunately, the management company has let the property fall into disrepair and there has clearly been no minimal upkeep. The house was dirty when we arrived (dead bugs in the windowsills, dirty cups put back into the cabinets, used dental floss on the ground in the primary bedroom). Vacasa (the management company) was incredibly difficult to communicate with and I wasn’t able to reach anyone on the phone for 4 days from our date of check-in. Once I spoke with them, they did refund the cleaning fee at least. I hope the homeowners decide to list this property with a different management company moving forward, as this place could be awesome.

Not as it appears

Property super run down. Needs a deep cleaning and overhaul inside and out. Carpets all stained and paint stains throughout. Cobwebs everywhere outside. Outdoor furniture dirty and not inviting. Super disappointed. Communication with Vacasa extremely hard. Would never book with them as the manager ever again. We were so let down and it really made our stay so upsetting, especially spending over $10K for the week.
