Große Enttäuschung!
Das ganze Hotel ist abgewohnt. Anlage zwar schön, Zimmer aber schrecklich. Außen Hui, innen pfui. Überall an Wänden und Decken Schimmel. Es ist an der Ausstattung sicherlich seit mindestens 20 Jahren nichts mehr gemacht worden. Bettwäsche schmutzig. Zudem haben wir ein anderes Zimmer als gebucht erhalten. Personal ist eher unfreundlich und unbeholfen und das Frühstück ist eines der schlechtesten in Costa Rica. Das Hotel ist für diese Leistungen mehr als überteuert. Auf unserer Costa Rica Rundreise haben wir uns hier mit Abstand am unwohlsten gefühlt. Wir haben Hostels bereist, die mehr Komfort boten. Wir waren ausgesprochen froh als wir auschecken konnten. WLAN nur in der Lobby.

Arenal-feeling!
Hotel Resort in einer wunderschönen Umgebung! Sauber, freundliches, hilfsbereites Personal, gute Küche aber wenig speditiv-haben eine geschlagene Stunde auf unser Essen gewartet, ohne excuse notabene. Toller Blick, gepflegte Anlage
Die Lage des Hotels ist günstig zwischen La Fortuna und Nationalpark Arenal (aber nur, wenn man mit Auto unterwegs ist). Die Anlage ist sehr großzügig und sehr gepflegt. Es gibt mehrere Pools mit Kaltwasser und 3 Thermalpools. Auch Vulkanschlamm steht zur Nutzung bereit. Es werden 3 kostenlose Ausflüge angeboten, wir haben den zum Indiodorf mitgemacht, wobei man da aber kein Indiodorf besucht, sondern nur einen Souveniershop im Wald. War trotzdem interessant und lehrreich. Lobenswert, das Hotel unterstützt die lokale Indiocommunity. Das Frühstücksbuffet war nicht sonderlich üppig, das Personal im Restaurant unfreundlich. Aber das kennt man bereits von Costa Rica allgemein. Grundsätzlich würden wir das Hotel weiter empfehlen.

Wonderful stay close to La Fortuna
We had only a breif stay at Montana Fuego - very relaxing - lovely grounds and lots of birds - and frogs. The thermales pools were very relaxing and the cool pool great for the kids - the staff were wonderful - extremely helpful with every request. The room was clean and very comfortable and spacious with a beautiful veranda and view into the grounds. Close enough to La Fotuna - and yet felt right out in the country - the bathrooms close to the pool were not very clean - but we were there over the weekend and there were lots of guests. Wonderful stay!

Beautiful property. We stayed in a superior bungalow and they’re situated for privacy and really incredible views. We kept the windows open to listen to night sounds but there’s also air conditioning. The rooms are a bit dated but the location and view and privacy and amenities more than make up for it. Pool and thermal pool facilities are charming. Staff was friendly and gracious. I’d gladly stay there again.

Nice and clean and very friendly stuffs. Only thing I didn’t like is that they didn’t have Wifi in rooms. I recommend to give Wifi in every guest room.

La habitación que nos tocó tenía un fuerte mal olor a humedad o a cucarachas, el edificio que nos tocó estaba totalmente apartado y con una habitación vecina totalmente destrozada, hasta la puerta abierta tenía y todas las cosas tiradas en el suelo. Pedimos cambio de habitación pero no se pudo porque no habían más habitaciones de la misma categoría disponible.

The room we were given looked nothing like the photos. Also the sofa was so worn out it wasn’t even usable. The walls had stains and room 278 was generally not as represented in the photos. Very disappointed and felt it was bait and switch.

It was fun to have our own little bungalow in the jungle, at the base of a volcano. The property was immaculate. The breakfast every morning was delicious. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We'll come back for sure!

No volvería!
Se pagan $10 adicionales para que la mascota solo pueda estar en la habitación y no la áreas comunes. Desde que hice la reserva pregunté y hasta que llegue al hotel me dieron toda la lista de restricciones. Mejor no aceptarán del todo. Tuvimos que comer fuera en lugares que si son Pet Friendly. Hace 2 años visité el hotel y es increíble ver el deterioro de las habitaciones y no es nada barato...

This property needs a lot of help. The staff is outstanding, but every facet of this hotel is in dire need of help. Here is my list: ROOMS: I booked two rooms and they were both terrible. My room had gaps so big in the walls that bugs were coming in. The room had a hole in he wall that looked to be made by a drill and it was lightly filled in with toilet paper. Almost like a peeping Tom hole. There was no reliable hot water in the shower, so I had to take very cold showers. The walls are very thin, so you have to turn the AC or fan on to shield people walking by outside. Forget about privacy. The room reminded me of a summer camp for kids. The other rooms (upgraded, in a building that contains 6-8 other rooms) was a bit better, but the beds in all rooms were uncomfortable and the rooms were definitely in the 1 start range.
