I have stayed in some pretty bad hotels over the years but this was the worst by far. The hotel was way too expensive for what you got. There was no elevator to the 2d floor and the steps were steep and narrow. The carpet on the steps was heavily stained and had a heavy coat of dust--filthy. The carpet looked like it had not been properly cleaned in months. The carpet in the hallway wasn't much letter. If you were lucky, the housekeepers would come to empty the trash, take the dirty towels and give you clean ones and possibly attempt to make the bed. Some days they just didn't come. The breakfast was poor and the breakfast room tables and floor dirty. The majority of the front desk staff had absolutely no customer service skills! They were not very accommodating or friendly. They were like zombies. They very seldom greeted guests on entering or acknowledged them on leaving. They just sat there staring at their computer screens. When people called and wanted to leave a message, they were told that they don't take messages. The service and cleaniness of the whole hotel were horrible, horrible, horrible.
