We had an absolutely amazing stay at STITCH Hotel in Kyoto and I’m so grateful I booked it based on other people’s reviews ~ every single positive comment turned out to be true!
The location is unbeatable, right in the heart of the Gion district and just steps from the metro, making it incredibly easy to explore the city. As soon as we checked in, we headed out to wander through beautiful Kyoto, and honestly, you don’t even need transportation because everything feels so accessible from here (unless you are going to Kyoto station, and for that we used taxi).
The service was exceptional, especially from Thea, who made our stay feel extra welcoming and seamless. The rooms are impressively spacious (a rarity in Japan), with more than enough room for all our suitcases, + a comfortable couch to relax on and kitchenette. The cleanliness was spotless, and the bed was incredibly comfortable.
One of the standout features was the shower ~ amazing water pressure, and having a washer / dryer (2 in 1) right in the room was such a huge bonus. The bathroom layout was also fantastic, with a large space, separate toilet, and a separate shower room, all well-designed and soundproofed for total comfort.
We also loved the thoughtful and unique housekeeping system: you leave your towels in the bin outside your room by 2 PM, and they return it clean in the same bin ~ no one enters your room while you’re away, which we really appreciated.
The hotel is quiet and peaceful, yet perfectly located
