The space
This unique accommodation has been renovated with respect for the original spirit of the Wanha School 2022-2023. The idea is to have fun with a big or more family and stay cheap at the same time!

Sauna is included, you can also rent *hot tub 150€+extra days 50€ self heated and with the same water.
Payment and hot tub must be booked 24 hours in advance.

A large dining area The dining area

can accommodate 15 people at a time. In addition to a large dining table, the space has a sofa corner for lounging.

A spacious kitchen

in Onnela's large kitchen has space to cook for a larger group of people. It has a variety of cooking utensils, a refrigerator, a freezer, an induction stove, a convection oven, a microwave, a dishwasher, and cutlery for 15 people. Plenty of working space.

School gym

The kids' favorite in Onnela is the school's original 70m2 gym, with plenty of different toys and game equipment for kids. When children's mellets in the hall, adults also have a moment to themselves and their own time. This space is for Onnela private use.

The living area/Living

room on the ground floor of Onnela is a living room with a Smart TV and a large sofa bed that is comfortable to descend to relax after a hard day of sports. There's also a game space in the hallway for table games.

Toilets and shower, please note this when booking
The home is quirky and built in the school's former classrooms. There is a 2 toilet downstairs and only 1 shower, upstairs you can also use the toilet in the maintenance building:spaces that go outdoors.

Washing is meant to be done in a traditional sauna with no shower.
The sauna is included and heated by yourself(if you book a hot tub, the sauna will be heated to the service).

We recommend booking a hot tub while you get a sauna heated and a hot hot tub!

Downstairs there are 4 separate bedrooms:

Downstairs Fitness Space 2, Tatami

As a specialty, Wanha School has a popular basement gym with tatami flooring. Sports space 2 is available to all school residents daily from 6am to 8pm.

Yard log sauna and lots

Onnela's customers have access to a log, wood-burning yard sauna “Akansauna” completed in 2021. Onnela's sauna shift is by appointment. Akansauna is a traditional wooden sauna and is heated by yourself.

Hot tub rentals are 150€ per day heated and additional days are 60€. Lots must be booked 24 hours in advance.

Your own little yard
The small porch has patio furniture and a gas and charcoal grill.

In addition,

Onnela has air conditioning both upstairs and downstairs, free WiFi and plenty of parking spaces, including 2 places for a block heater. (Not suitable for charging an electric car.)

The space can be connected to the Family Apartment, which means the total number of accommodations is 20+8.

Onnela is entirely for the renter's own use. Other apartments in the building may have guests, but all spaces are separate.

Location and surroundings

Wanha School is located on the western side of Tahko, in a quiet location amidst the ridge shaped by the ice season. Tahkovuori ski resort is 6 km away, and the center of Tahkovuori is 14 km away.

For easy skiing from the

West Coat of Tahko, it's really convenient to go to the slope because it's always less crowded and the car can be parked right next to the ski lifts. You can also buy elevator tickets here. The famous Double Bar is also conveniently accessible by car from the West Lines side.

During the summer season, on the west side of Tahko, you'll find great hiking destinations, including the Mäkiaution Gorge and its landscaping, Rahasmäki leaning, and Huutavanholma. There is now a car road to the top of the panoramic restaurant in Tahko.

In the summer, Tahko offers a great setting for golfers, as well as a wide variety of activities, such as fishing, e-bike off-road, shooting, paintball, kayaking, berry picking and mushroom picking, and a spa. There are also stunning camping terrain around the school with fridge ridge and soup.

The yard

area of Wanha School's yard has opportunities for a wide range of leisure activities, both adults and children.

In winter, you'll have access to sticks, sliders, snowshoes, and some children's skiing and boots.

The 9km traditional village street onthe route leaves in the winter from Wanha School's yard. Snowmobile trails are also easily accessible via Jouhilahdentie.
Guest access
The apartment is completely for your own use, with a private yard with garden furniture and a grill, a wood-burning log yard sauna.

The courtyard, campfire site, playgrounds, and downstairs exercise space 2 are shared by all residents.

Pets allowed. Additional cleaning fee 30€/pet (allergy cleaning), payable on site or add pets in your accomodation so the fees will be applied
