This beautiful home is perched above Kukuiula Bay on Kauai’s sunny South Shore overlooking the bay and the Kukuiula Golf Course. This beautiful vacation spot features spectacular ocean and mountain views from most of its rooms, multiple lanais, and dining areas overlooking the harbor and beach. With two bedrooms and two baths, plus an open loft seating/sleeping area, it’s the perfect getaway on the ocean for a family or group of six with beds for ten.



Your stay comes with a FREE membership to the Poipu Beach Athletic Club (PBAC) which includes a beautiful pool with a beach and slide, tennis, pickleball, basketball, weight machines, free weights, cardio, classes, and much more. There is a wonderful restaurant on-site with poolside service.

Guest Access:

You will receive a link to an online guest book when it gets close to your arrival date. You will receive the link by email and text. The home has an electronic lock at the bottom level where the cars are parked. A code will be generated into your guest book just before your arrival day.



The Neighborhood:

Lawai Road is a wonderful, flat walking street that is mostly on the Poipu Coastline. It goes from a traffic circle where Shops at Kukuiula and the Wednesday Culinary Market to Spouting Horn. On Thursdays visit the Aloha Market at the beautiful National Tropical Gardens. The gardens have tours almost every day. McBryde and Allerton are the gardens in Poipu. Take the little ones to Baby Beach, snorkel at Lawai Beach, and relax and swim at the Kukuiula Boat Harbor. Dine at Beach House Restaurant or go for happy hour and watch the sunset.



Getting Around:

When visiting Kauai, we highly recommend renting a car to enhance your experience and give you the freedom to explore the island at your own pace. While there are other transportation options available, such as the Kauai Bus, it's important to note that the bus service may not run as frequently as you might expect.



Having a rental car allows you to easily access all the incredible sights and attractions that Kauai has to offer. From the stunning Na Pali Coast to the breathtaking Waimea Canyon, having your own transportation gives you the flexibility to visit these iconic locations on your own schedule.



Other Things to Note:

All reservations require a 25% payment to hold chosen dates. 

• 45 days prior to arrival, the remaining balance is due in full



CANCELLATION POLICIES: 

• Reservations canceled 30 days or more prior to arrival date are 100% refundable.   



PESTS:

Kauai is in a climate that is considered to be both tropical and within a rainforest category, known for its lush flora and fauna.  The environmental factors create a situation where pests (insects) are nearly impossible to eradicate from every property constantly.  Many bugs fly in when a door is open at night or are simply small enough to come in through screens on windows and sliding doors.  For this reason, Koloa Kai engages regular quarterly pest control in every property to keep the pests at bay.  Despite these efforts, it is possible to have pests in your property, and if that happens, Koloa Kai will take all measures possible as quickly as possible to mitigate any issues.  Any monetary compensation, refunds or discounts will be given solely at the discretion of Koloa Kai and will only be available in situations where the company agrees that an infestation has occurred.  Koloa Kai reserves the right to investigate and provide remediation of any pest issue. The mere presence of pests in the property shall not constitute grounds for monetary compensation.



30-DAY MAXIMUM RENTALS:

Koloa Kai LLC provides only short-term rentals with a maximum reservation of 30 days.  Each reservation is fully documented and provides for a fixed date and time for check-in and check-out, rental rates, associated fees, and all other requirements required by local and state law.  If a guest books consecutive reservations where the check-out and check-in dates are concurrent, then a cleaning fee will be assessed, and a Koloa Kai designated cleaning professional/inspector will have unrestricted access to the property for the purposes of cleaning and inspection of the property.  During the time between reservations, described by the check-out time and check-in time specifically, the guests shall vacate the property so that the designated cleaning professional/inspector can conduct a full reservation clean and inspection in accordance with Koloa Kai’s standard practice.  Guest access to the property shall be restricted specifically to the date/times of the reservation documentation and may not be extended upon verbal or text message confirmation.



Hawaii Laws require that GET (4.712%), Kauai TAT (3.0%) and TAT (10.25%) taxes apply to the cleaning fee.

The house is positioned perfectly for our family. We fell in love the moment we entered the spacious property and bright open rooms. The convenience of Poipu and the use of the athletic club was priceless. Our adult kids went to the club to work out, we all enjoyed snorkeling at the beach house, and Koloa landing, and surfing at pekala. A perfect stay from start to finish!

Fantastic place right on the water

We love coming to Kauai and this was our first time renting a home on the island. We loved this place - right on the water with really great views of a beautiful golf course out one side and the entire back of the home facing the ocean. It was a great size home for our family of 6. We love to come back and watch movies every night after the days activities and the large family room and big TV were great. We also love to run and the road to and from the house was great for running, right on the ocean. Overall great home, easy check-in and check-out, and great communication from the host.

Wonderful Vacation on the Water

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the house. The photos were accurate. The location was great - we went snorkeling a couple time in the harbor and walked down to the botanical gardens. The decor, books, games, all the little details made the house very comfortable and special-feeling. Watching the sunset from the deck was a perfect way to spend an evening!

Oceanfront & great location...what's not to love?!

Lovely home with beautiful view in a great location! Easily accommodated 6 people over 3 generations. *Nicely stocked with all the amenities - Kitchen: appliances, utensils, dishes, bakeware, spices; Beach: toys, chairs, umbrellas, coolers, towels, outdoor shower; Bathroom towels, basic sundries, hairdryer, etc. *Location is amazing. Short walk to bay/beach, spouting horn, botanical gardens. Far enough out of town you avoid a lot of people & noise but still just a short drive to great shops & restaurants.*Check in/out is a breeze. Keyless entry. PM is communicative and responds timely. Things to consider/useful to know.*Main A/C works great. BR A/C's do not blow cold (even after we cleaned the filters) which means sleeping with the windows open until replaced. Loft has several fans which helps a lot as it is significantly warmer. *Roosters are many & crow all times of the day. Oceanfront BR has the luxury of the ocean waves to drown out the noise but those in the 2nd BR & loft are subject to incessant crowing which can make sleep a challenge (despite earplugs). *The dock across the bay is a popular fishing spot which often continues well after dark - voices & music carry. Those in the oceanside BR may find this disruptive. *The dock light across the bay is bright and shines right toward the house. Generally not an issue unless you are sleeping in the loft. With no window coverings, it provides a lot of illumination & may be disruptive to some (not for us).

Exceeded expectations!!

Kaua’i bay house exceeded expectations in every way. The location was perfect. The house sits away from the congested resort areas, but still well within easy access to restaurants, shops, beaches, etc., which are all just down the road. There is also a quiet beach and park right next door. The house itself was perfect for our needs. The pace is very nice and well maintained, yet still cozy and comfortable - exactly what a beach house should be. The kitchen was fully equipped, there were ample linens, and even had beach towels, chairs, umbrellas, etc., -all of which were in good condition. The property is positioned directly on the waterfront, with a comfortable breeze 24/hr/day - we never once needed the air conditioner. The Koloa Kai team did an exceptional job of communicating with us and making everything as convenient as can be. We were even greeted with a welcome basket, seeing as we were there celebrating our wedding anniversary. We will definitely look to stay here again, the next time we are in Kauai.

Good Location for Poipu and Koloa

We wished we would have known about the harbor lights and lack of window treatments in the main rooms as it would have influenced our lodging decision in the poipu area. There was a lack of privacy definitely at night time. Otherwise the house had ample space for four adults, nice views, and a good location. The local beach was great for a quick ocean dip.

Just Beautiful

This home is beautiful, homey, has beach vibes and sits practically on the water. Hearing the waves crash during the night, is the best for relaxing sleep. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need. The location is great. Close to so many great places to visit. We just loved it.

Heavenly!

Our whole experience was amazing from the communication, amenities, location, and views! This was my 5th time to visit Kauai, and it's always a new adventure each time I go with so much to do, beautiful climate - you name it! This was my daughters first time to visit, and this home was perfect for my family of 5. We will be back again for sure!

Little piece of paradise.

We picked this place to stay at since we were getting married and having our honeymoon at the same time. The house was amazing, and when we walked in for the first time they had a bottle of champagne and chocolates with a card congratulating us. We appreciated that so much and were thankful for that gesture. We loved leaving the sliding glass door open in our room at night for the air coming in and the sounds of waves hitting the rocks. The best part of the place to us was the hammock!!! We layed on it all the time and just enjoyed the weather and ocean view from it. We couldn't have picked a better place to stay for the first half of our honeymoon. We will definitely be staying there again when we come back.
