Central Kihei gives families a convenient position for exploring different parts of Maui while keeping the coast close. South Kihei Road leads toward the Kamaole Beach Parks for swimming, sandy walks, coffee, shopping, and casual meals. Wailea lies farther south for beaches and dinner, while the location also makes larger island day trips possible. The appeal is flexibility: spend the day ranging around Maui, then come back to an ocean-facing lanai and a neighborhood with practical food and shopping options nearby.



Getting Around:

Kahului Airport is about 20 to 30 minutes away, an easy drive down Maui's sunny south shore. A rental car is recommended to make the most of Kihei's many beaches, shops, and restaurants spread along the coast. Some stretches near South Kihei Road are walkable to dining and shopping, while beaches are often just minutes away. Parking is typically available on site, in lots, or along nearby streets.
