Great property!!

Very nice, clean property in a beautiful resort area. Only complaints are dinnerware and wine glasses need to be updated. Also, refrigerator blocks the opening of a cabinet and door. But overall had a wonderful stay.

Maui Thanksgiving

We were pleasantly surprised by the layout of the property and the living room space and window view of the ocean with gorgeous evening sunsets. Our unit was clean and we only used the kitchen for snacks and coffee and one breakfast. The neighborhood was very tranquil and well manicured landscaping with just a short walk to the pool. Our kids and grandkids loved the surroundings and enjoyed going to the beach.

Reviewer Comments: We arrived soon after our allotted entry time to a wonderfully situated and clean apartment which has a good view of the ocean through the palm trees and a lovely open covered lanai perfect for dining for any meal during the day as there's shade but also a breeze. The BBQ and beach chairs really helped in our stay. Kitchen was fitted out with no complaints apart from the lack of sharp knives (but I always take my diamond sharpener!). Bedrooms and the building were lovely and quiet at night. All 4 of us would not hesitate to return to this particular unit or The Palms in general........we loved it and will certainly recommend it to our friends - but only if we can go back with them!

Mostly a Glod Stay

This is mostly a nice unit, with some wear and tear that with improvement could make it an awesome unit. When we arrived I had to clean things like kitchen door handles, the pantry door, and wipe the counters. It didn't feel super clean. I really did not appreciate cleaning someone else's grime out of the cooler. This automatically makes me wonder what else isn't cleanly. Not a huge deal I guess.There was not enough silverware for the number of people in our group, which I notice seems to be a complaint that management hasn't addressed over time.What I think is MOST important for others to know is related to the pool.Our children were not allowed to play with a single water toy or even splash without local residents giving us dirty looks.This has got to be the most uncomfortable pool environment I have been at. This normally wouldn't frustrate me except that only some of their strict pool rules are enforced. I think it's really unfair to snark at children behaving normally but then allow the adults to get drunk when there is also a no alcohol policy. I witnessed adult after adult coming down with their Kona beer and management didn't say a thing. You can't enforce some of your very strict rules but not others. Secondly, if this property wants to have a strict pool policy, fine, but then make that explicit in the listing. I felt really bad for the many kids just being normal kids in a pool while adults strolled by with a look or asked them to stop with a drink in hand.

Spacious and Clean

This property was more than enough room for our family of 4. Everyone had a spot when they wanted some quiet time after a day at the many nearby beaches. The dining table, patio and living room was perfect for us to gather for meals or watch a movie. The rental was clean upon arrival and had everything we needed, but anything extra we were able to purchase nearby. Beautiful property!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our stay in condo #206 at Palms at Wailea was comfortable for the most part. At night, the living room / dining room were very dimly lit. There was only a side table lamp in living room and the 2 spot lights in the dining room. The floor lamp shown in the picture was not in the condo during our stay. The beds in each of the rooms were very worn out (not very cushiony). The sliding closet door in bedroom #1 was not sliding properly (worn out). The sliding pocket door in master bath was also not working. Very short walk to the pool....distant view of the ocean....clean unit....with adequate kitchen and beach supplies available.This property very close to the beaches of Wailea and Kihei (2-10 min drive depending on which beach you are going to. Very Average Unit in Good Location

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stay in Wailea 60-70 days a year and usually stay in Palms, Ekahi, or Elua. Palms is a nice development, but this particular unit was very poorly stocked (4 total large glasses, 1 total plastic cup for children, no pizza cutter, no can opener, many of the knives from the knife block literally bent, one Tupperware container for leftovers, etc.) and in need of a refresh (cracked tiles, seems in carpet opening up, corners of drywall cracking in places, etc.) The blinds are vertical blinds that block basically no light and make the A/C unable keep up during the day. If you have trouble sleeping with ambient light at night this will be tough for you. The bedrooms don't have fresh air returns for the air conditioning, so the flow into the bedrooms at night is extremely weak if the bedroom doors are closed. Missing light cover on guest room fan so it's just exposed light bulbs for the bulb fixture. Inadequate amount of beach towels for the number of people the unit is supposed to sleep. There are no large issues, it's just a number of small issues that have probably been being ignored that add up to a mediocre stay. I'm sure a small investment from the owner to properly stock the unit, touch up some paint, etc. would make a massive improvement.

Lovely condo - would stay again

We walked into this condo and felt immediately relaxed after a long day of traveling. Someone came in shortly before us to turn on the a/c and TV. It was light and bright and spacious. We only had minor complaints: the couch has changed from what you see in the pictures (the new one is soft and wonderful but it changes the space available for the dining table), the twin beds that could be made into a king were kept separate by a night stand, the ask was to take shoes off but the floors made our bare feet filthy in less than an hour of arriving, the porch has not gotten any attention for quite a while (huge birds nest, lots of bird feces), and mysteriously, there was no can opener despite the sheer volume of things available in the kitchen. The pool was also very different from what was pictured. All I can think was perhaps a remodel since pictures were taken? Even with these minor surprises, we really loved staying in this unit. It was harder than expected (based on the pics) to negotiate with a toddler, but we made due and did our best to keep trouble out of his reach, but do know there’s a lot of trouble for a toddler in this condo. A great washer and dryer, loaded kitchen, comfy king bed, solid internet, short walk to the pool, short drive to the beach, and a lovely neighborhood! Charming decor and furnishings. I was just bummed to see the unit listed for around $50 less a night on the owner’s website right before we checked in, but regardless, we enjoyed ourselves and would return.
