We had a ten day trip with our adult children and their partners. This place was amazing - just short of perfect. The property is clean, private, quiet and serene. We have no real complaints - our stay was easy, we were comfortable and all of the tools, equipment and toys included with the rental made things so convenient. The kitchen is stocked with many of the things you really dont want to buy on vacation, the BBQ and outdoor kitchen is fabulous, and the storage locker is full of goodies for your daytime adventures. The pool in the townhouse complex is convenient and was rarely busy. It is an easy walk to the nearby grocery store and there are restaurants and a coffee shop in the complex. The townhouse is much closer to the Fairmont hotel than the Auberge hotel at Mauna Lani - if you go for meals at Auberge you'll probably want to drive. The beach club is quite a long walk (or a run), so you need to drive if you are bringing gear. We preferred the black sand beach (which you will pass on the road to the beach club) - it is public but attendance is limited to the number of parking spots so it is like a private beach. We had a lot of fun snorkeling, swimming and hanging out there. The location is good for trips into Kona and across the island to Hilo for activities - highways are easy to access. You will not be disappointed with OluOlu!

Arlene and Jay were incredible from the moment we arrived. They checked in daily, sent restaurant recommendations, directed us to medical care when we had a minor injury and ever dropped off a bottle of bubbly to ease the recovery! Condo was comfortable, clean and roomy. Walking distance to grocery and shops and a quick drive to the beach club. Can’t wait to return. Thank you!

We’ve stayed in this complex before and knew we loved it! This unit was an awesome location, quick access to the pool and a fantastic view from the lanai. Love these townhouses for our rambunctious family-rooms are all separate and quiet, plenty of space for everyone. Just the perfect jumping off spot for all of our favorites on the Big Island. Better than listed!
We loved this property and thought it was better than the listing depicts! They have TONS of beach toys, hats, gear and even bikes accessible to guests. Great for kids and families. They even brought in a baby gate and cribs to accommodate our small children. The location was ideal for families with the beach and pool so close. We thought this was the most beautiful part of the Island. Would definitely recommend and stay here again!

Very peaceful, private home in an upscale, gated community. Tremendous value for the location, space and amenities offered! We did take advantage of the beach access a couple of times, but primarily spent our vacation exploring the island and the delicious cuisine at the nearby restaurants. The home was clean and well maintained. The property manager was very responsive at every step of the way. We hope to book the Olu Olu home again in the future! Mahalo for your hospitality!

They Really Get It!
The unit is fantastic! It's like aToll House property - 12' ceilings on the first floor. All of the amenities are spot on. Please note: The unit is 2.5 bathrooms, not three, so you have two showers, 3 toilets. Jay is fantastic, responds to the phone when you call, and was willing to run a second parking pass right over to us (we had two cars!). You cannot beat that type of response.
The pool is great (exceptional really).
The location is as good as you can get without staying in the Fairmont Orchid, or the Mauna Lani.
This unit comes with a Mauna Lani Club beach pass, and that is a must for convenience and getting to a sandy beach close by.
I give this unit 5 stars!

Stunning property
This rental was absolutely awesome. It was beautifully furnished and provided so many “extras” we couldn’t believe it. The kitchen cabinets were stocked with seasonings, cooking spray ect. Drawers had foil, baggies and Tupperware. Bathrooms had body wash, shampoo and a closet stacked with extra towels. The primary closet had tons of extra pillows and blankets. The laundry room was fully stocked with laundry soap and a basket full of beach towels. Our biggest surprise was a supply closet outside with bikes, beach chairs, a cooler even a surfboard! The pool area was beautiful and steps away from the unit. The best amenity by far was access to the private beach club. We spent 4 of our 7 days there. Highly recommend this exquisite property.

Outstanding location and space. Accurately described. Well-stocked to start your stay. Very clean. This is our 3rd time staying here on the Big Island (total of 6 party, with an additional 4 of my family staying in another unit) in Mauna Lani, with this trip being the 2nd time in Fairways. The Big Island is our favorite island and all of the amenities that this unit and the resort in general has were perfect. We did have one issue with the parking and charging of a golf cart that our family rented for the duration of our trip. The Fairways Homeowners Association site manager was quite animated in that we can only park one vehicle (either our rental car or the golf cart) in one of the parking spots. There were many open parking spots daily—we were not preventing anyone from parking. The golf cart rental company (Kohala Beach Buggies) was very surprised that this happened given the long record of them renting to guests at the Fairways. The site manager was rude and intrusive during our stay (at one point he drove his golf cart to the rear private patio of our unit during an early morning breakfast and approached my wife [dressed only in her nightgown], elderly mother in law, and myself, but, thankfully, our hosts that manage the unit quickly and effectively intervened and corrected the situation. They really knocked it out of the park with how they handled the situation—kudos to them. This situation could’ve derailed our trip a bit but thanks to them all was well.

We had six people in this three bedroom unit, and it was perfectly sized for gathering, privacy and sleeping. The kitchen was well furnished, as were all the living and bedroom areas. The condo was very clean. We enjoyed the bbq and being outdoors at the pool. Proximity to the Fairmont was a big plus, just a 10 minute walk away.

Beautiful stay in 3BR at Mauna Lani
The home is right across from the large community pool that comes with a large hot tub and generous public area. Stores/restaurants/coffee is a 10-12 minute walk or a 2 minute drive. The only downside to the well-furnished unit is the creaky mattresses for the two small beds in one of the upstairs bedrooms. Other than that, the stay was wonderful. Jay and Marla came by to introduce themselves and recommend some good local restaurants. You have good privileges at the Mauna Lani beach club and the health club facilities are excellent (for an additional fee). A terrific stay!

You will love this place!
We rented #905 in the Fairways at Mauna Lani and could not have been happier. The property is located in a great area close to restaurants, a grocery store and many other activities. We especially liked the private beach club access the rental includes. This beach has great snorkeling, a very nice bar/restaurant and shaded lounge chairs. The property was set up with everything we needed and exceeded our expectations as far as supplies, decor, cleanliness, etc. Grace the property manager, was extremely nice to deal with and handled our every need and gave us very useful information about the area.

Property managers are helpful and friendly. We love the location within the Mauna Lane resort complex, close to groceries, restaurants and beaches.

Wonderful.
Great place for a family get away. Very quiet and children friendly and an amazing backyard lanai. Got to listen and see beautiful birds every morning. Well equipped kitchen and grill. Plenty of bath and beach towels. The private beach is perfect - great for kids small waves, but not loud and rowdy. Highly recommend this place.

Tip top shape with many extras!
This is a review of my experience renting Unit #905 at The Fairways at Mauna Lani on the Big Island.
I arrived on a Saturday and departed one week later.
First, the instructions from the rental agent were exact and easy to understand. The rental agent was easy to reach and responsive to any requests. My wife and I arrived to find the condominium in tip top shape with many extras, such as books, games, playing cards. May I also add that the unit was beautifully furnished and maintained.
We were extremely comfortable and especially enjoyed the lovely linens and towels. Everything in this lovely unit worked as advertised.
The location is also a short walk to the ocean. Going the other direction is a short walk to a great grocery store and lovely shops and restaurants. Each morning I took the short walk to the grocery for a few items and newspapers.
The pool and spa area were really comfortable and just plain beautiful-almost like a private lagoon.
In summary, I liked the rental unit so much that I intend to come back as soon as I can break free for a week. This property has my highest rating.

We found our piece of paradise!
Great location and very well cared for property. Everything we needed at our fingertips. Loved our days and evenings walking around the resort. We could easily walk to the store and prepare our own meals, but we also walked to nearby Fairmont Orchid for massages and had a fabulous meal at Brown's at the Orchid. Happy Hours at Ruths' Chris and Tommy Bahamas were fun. Walking along the path to the private beach club where we rented paddle boards we almost tripped over a turtle (honu) that was sunning himself on the path. Try lunch and a Mai Tai at Napua right after you go for a snorkel at the private beach club. We walked, but it's a short drive and Hawaii Vacation Rentals provided us with a card so we had our own easy access. Nature everywhere. So enjoyed the ancient fish ponds and all of the beauty of days gone by. We will be back and bring some friends.
