Wonderful place to stay in Kaanapali

We loved our stay at Whaler in Kaanapali! This condo was perfect for our family. You can’t beat the location and the view. It had everything we needed and the communication with the property manager was exceptional. We will definitely try to stay here the next time we are in Maui.

Absolutely perfect... The condo was spacious and comfortable. The wrap around balcony was amazing for ocean and mountain views. Some of the best snorkeling is right on Kaanapali beach. Whaler's village was a short walk for restaurants and shopping. We are already planning our next visit.

Slice of paradise

One of my criteria for staying in Hawaii is always being where I can hear the ocean sounds at night. This place very much exceeded my expectation. We could sit on the lanai and see whales as well as hear and see the ocean crashing. The instructions and tips provided by Heather were excellent and we loved picking up food from a nearby restaurant and eating in the condo as it had a much better view than any restaurant. We are already talking about going to stay here again next year. It is perfect. The property is lovely and the amenities are perfect.

Perfect spot for a family trip

The Whaler is in the perfect spot, centrally located on Kaanapali Beach. If you don't mind the stairs, you can be down on the beach in about one minute from the kitchen of this apartment. Perfect for us as we are back and forth all day! This unit is huge and has the most amazing views (including sunset!) out of every window. It is clean and beautifully decorated and the beds are extremely comfortable with cozy sheets and pillows. We found everything we needed in the well-stocked kitchen, so when we wanted to cook it was easy. We were traveling with a baby, and they were very accommodating about getting us in a little early for nap time. It was the perfect spot for whoever had to stay in for naps to never feel like they were missing out, as you are practically on the beach when you're on the balcony! We have stayed at the Whaler many times but this was by far the best unit we have rented. We will be back! 10/10 would highly recommend.

Beautiful Condo

I would highly recommend this condo to anyone planning a trip to Maui. The views are amazing and somehow even more beautiful in person. The wraparound lanai was huge, and we spent much time out there enjoying the view. The location is perfect. You couldn't get any closer to the beach, and it was super convenient being next to Whalers Village. The condo was very clean and had everything we needed. The owner, Heather, and the on island contact, Charles, were both super helpful and great to work with. I truly couldn't have asked for a better experience all around, and I can't wait to go back one day!!

Amazing views and condo

Wonderful large condo perfect for our family of 5. Large lanai overlooking the ocean and viewing the many whales was a treat. Great location near Whalers Village and resort hotels and restaurants. Mechanical issue with refrigerator was quickly resolved with no disruption. Excellent communication with both owner and on-site management company. We hope to return again soon.

BEST Location in Maui

Beautiful property!!! This property is probably one of the best in Maui. So close (2 min walk) to all the shops and restaurants and literally right on the beach! The view is spectacular. The Best Time!

This was our second visit staying at this exact property and it was just as great the second time around. The location cannot be beat and the unit is really well maintained and super clean. The location is literally steps from the sand and walking distance to many resorts, restaurants, and shopping along Kaanapali beach. We did a rainforest hike and were able to swim in fresh water lakes and waterfalls through Hike Maui, which was amazing and I highly recommend it. A visit to the Heavenly Spa at the Westin was super relaxing and we were able to swim with a sea turtle just out front of the property. I highly recommend this property and the owners were so easy to work with and made everything seamless!

Absolutely Wonderful

This was our second trip to Maui and I wish we had found this place for the first one! We were traveling for my 40th birthday and I’m glad we stayed here! The property itself is beautiful and right on the water. The grounds are well kept and the staff is very helpful. The condo itself is well kept, clean and very bright. We loved the floor to ceiling mirrors throughout; it means that we rarely needed to turn on a light because the natural light keeps the unit well lit into the evening. The wraparound porch is perfect and lets you sit outside (in the shade if need be) all day long if your heart desires. You can walk up the beach about 5 minutes to Black Rock and down the beach a minute to Whalers Village. There’s plenty of shopping and restaurants there and even a coffee place with great açaí bowls that opens at 7am. A good option if you don’t feel like driving or didn’t rent a car. We were near everything; 10 mins drive from downtown Lahaina Town and 15 minutes from Ziplines near the Ritz Carleton. We were only 2-3 minutes drive from Airport Beach (great snorkeling) and only a few minutes further from Napili beach. Heather was really wonderful and quick with communication when responding to questions. We were traveling with some tired kids so it was reassuring to have such an accommodating host. Be sure to read through the documentation that the host provides! It’s really helpful especially to those who may not be as familiar with the area.

Paradise Found

WOW! What an amazing unit. We were directly ocean front with a gorgeous view of Lanai, Molokai and the ocean. You can’t get any closer. Our condo was equipped with everything you could want. Beach chairs, 2 umbrellas and coolers. As a family of four it was super convenient to have a washer and dryer (laundry detergent included)! My son stayed out a little too long and had a nice burn on his shoulders and guess what? Aloe Vera gel in the condo!! Beds were super comfy. Kitchen has everything you need to cook in. The owners were very responsive and great to deal with. Can’t say enough about this place. Will definitely book again.

Beyond Beautiful

We loved everything about our 9-day stay (except when we had to leave
.). The unit offers the most spectacular corner view that includes Ka’anapali Beach, Black Rock, Lanai, and Molokai, and, even in mid-April, we saw whales. Next door were fabulous restaurants (Hui Grill, Monkeypod, Leilani’s, etc.) as well as some fun stores. The condo had everything we could possibly need from binoculars to a washer and dryer. We all commented on how well we slept on the VERY comfortable beds. Clean, upscale, home-away-from-home, well-designed, and relaxing are all descriptors that come to mind. The owner is delightful and does everything in her power to ensure your perfect stay. Mahalo and we can’t wait to return!

Location location location

I have stayed at the Whaler annually since 1976 in many different units, so this is a well informed review. Pros: The 52 stack is unquestionably the best (ocean front, shade on lanai, courtyard view, tower 2 is slightly closer to the beach). The fifth floor is ideal (low enough to feel connected to the beach and use the stairs but high enough that those walking by can’t see into your unit). Bedroom decor is nice. Roller shades are a bonus. New patio doors are awesome. NHL network! Cons: Slatted doors to bedrooms don’t make any sense. No sound proofing is a huge inconvenience if people in your party have different sleep schedules. Wear and tear starting to show, particularly millwork in kitchen area. Overall cleanliness could be improved. Two queens (or at least the option of two twins instead of king) would be better in the second bedroom.

Fabulous Oceanfront Condo

Our family has stayed at the Whaler numerous times but this condo was by far the best! Beautifully decorated , clean and well- equipped with all of the comforts of home and then some. The wrap-around lanai provided the best views, the proximity to the beach, Whaler's Village , bars and restaurants, and the pool, tennis courts, exercise room, and underground parking all added up to an absolutely marvelous vacation spot. Heather was a wonderful and caring host and went out of her way to insure that we had a fantastic time. We LOVED it here and definitely will rent this unit again. Mahalo!!
