In the fully fenced backyard, swim in the custom in-ground pool, sweat it out in the barrel infrared sauna and sink a few on the putting green, then end at the built-in gas fire pit beside the hot tub. The four-bedroom home sleeps eight, east of downtown Joshua Tree. Pickleball first, baths after.



The Space:

Sun Mesa Sanctuary is a four-bedroom, two-bathroom home east of Joshua Tree Village, built around a private, fully fenced backyard that keeps the whole day's program in one place. Outside are a custom in-ground pool with a shaded pergola and loungers, a hot tub, a wood barrel infrared sauna, two clawfoot outdoor bathtubs, an outdoor shower, a full-size pickleball court and a putting green. Bright, comfortable interiors give the group room to gather between rounds. It sleeps up to eight and suits families and friends who want plenty to do at home between days in the park.

-Outdoor Amenities-

Start with a morning match on the full-size pickleball court while the air is still cool, then work on your short game at the putting green. Cool off in the custom in-ground pool and claim a lounger under the black steel pergola; the pool is not heated, and hot tub heating is included.



In the afternoon, step into the wood barrel dry infrared sauna, rinse under the custom outdoor shower with hot water, then fill the two clawfoot outdoor bathtubs, supplied with hot and cold water, behind their wood fence. Swing in a hammock until dinner, grill on the gas BBQ and eat at the picnic table. After dark, gather on the built-in seating around the gas fire pit, with the hot tub just behind it, and stay until the stars are out.



-Living Area-

Come inside to warm desert details, relaxed furnishings and a smart TV for movie nights. When the competition needs to continue, the separate game room has ping pong and foosball. The indoor fireplace is decorative and not functional. Central heating and air conditioning, high-speed Wi-Fi and a washer and dryer are provided.



-Kitchen and Dining-

Brew a pot of Joshua Tree Coffee Co. coffee, provided, and make a quick breakfast before a hike or a long dinner at home in the fully equipped kitchen. Outside, the gas BBQ and picnic table make it easy to cook and eat under the open sky. Ice trays are in the freezer, and you may wish to bring bottled drinking water.



-Bedrooms and Bathrooms-

The primary bedroom has a California king bed, the second bedroom has a king bed, and the third and fourth bedrooms each have a queen bed. A queen Koala sofa bed folds out for additional sleeping space. Two shared bathrooms serve the bedrooms and common areas, and with the outdoor shower and tubs, nobody waits long. The home sleeps up to eight guests.



-Surrounding Area-

Sun Mesa Sanctuary sits east of Joshua Tree Village in a quieter setting, close to downtown Joshua Tree's shops, galleries, independent restaurants and cafés and the Transmission sculpture by Daniel Popper. Joshua Tree National Park's West Entrance is an easy drive for rock formations and trails, and the area offers hiking, sound baths, stargazing and live music.

The entire house and property are yours to enjoy! Please note that a few supply closets stay locked to store rental supplies.

The home is east of Joshua Tree Village in a quiet high-desert setting, with easy access to the area's shops, restaurants, national park entrances and surrounding communities.

A personal vehicle is necessary to get around in this area - rideshare apps are not guaranteed.



Other Things to Note:

-Refrigerator-

The refrigerator's ice and water line is not connected. Ice trays are in the freezer, and filtered water is available.



-Indoor Fireplace-

The indoor fireplace is decorative and not functional. Central heating keeps the home comfortable in the winter months.



-House-Specific Rules-

► A maximum of four vehicles is permitted at the property under the short-term rental permit. Vehicles must be parked in the driveway. The garage is not available for parking, and street parking is prohibited.



-Pool Heating-

The pool is not heated. Hot tub heating is included with your stay. Please rinse off before entering the pool or hot tub, and do not allow pets in either.



-Pool and Hot Tub Service-

The pool and hot tub are serviced regularly, approximately between 9am and 4pm, and service may fall during your stay. Please note that these times are estimates and may change slightly due to our technician's busy schedule. He will not approach the house but will go directly through to the backyard.



-Pet Policy-

We welcome your dogs! There is a $100 per dog per stay fee, limit of 2 dogs maximum. Please note on your reservation how many dogs you are bringing. There is an unauthorized pet fee of $500. Please use the provided dog sheets before allowing your dogs on any furniture. Cats and other pets are not allowed.

Guests may encounter a variety of wildlife during their stay, and while direct encounters with dangerous animals like coyotes, snakes, scorpions, bobcats, mountain lions and other desert dwellers are rare, it is important to be aware of your surroundings and to keep a safe distance from these creatures when spotted. Additionally, the desert is dotted with sharp cacti and other spiky plants. For your safety, always supervise children, pets, ESAs, and service animals while outdoors. Dogs should remain on a leash at all times and be watched closely while outdoors, as they can wander into potentially unsafe situations with wildlife or plants. By booking this property, guests acknowledge the potential for wildlife encounters and assume responsibility for their safety and the safety of their group.
