Gorgeous Jamestown
5/5 stars, 10/10 recommend staying here! I gave 4/5 stars on the accuracy of listing only because from the photos I thought the place was much smaller... once you walk in its huge and inviting! Photos don't do it justice. We absolutely loved staying here. The area is beautiful. You have a gorgeous park nearby and a short hike to Blue Jay Mine, where you can see purple feldspar. You're right by the river and it is a dog frienly area. My (now) husband and I stayed here so we could get married at Isabelle Lake. Gorgeous drives to Boulder, Ward, and Etes park. Everyrhing around is dog friendly. Julie and Matt were very accommodating, responsive, and even checked on our pup while we were away doing marriage license things. They welcomed us with beautiful wild flowers and champagne to celebrate us. We would definitely stay here again.

Like staying in your own home
It is a special opportunity to have a place like this in Jamestown. Having lived in the Jamestown area for 9 years in the 90s/00s, it was wonderful to such a comfortable and centrally located place to visit all of our old friends and haunts. The home is new, right on the creek, and has everything you need. Julie and Matt were incredibly gracious. Highly recommended!

Perfect for a quite getaway. The VRBO host was very inviting and friendly. Limited cell service so be prepared and have directions saved to your device. Well worth getting outside of Boulder for a wonderful stay. With a mountain trail practically out the front door and a rambling mountain stream out the back, it was perfect for novice middle-aged hikers like us and for those who would like to hike further up the mountain. Beautiful. Very nice park within walking distance for kids and picnics. VRBO very clean and comfortable. Stocked with kitchenware, grill, games and movies. Planning to revisit this location!

The setting is beautiful along a winding creek. No air conditioning needed. If you love peace and quiet, time away from traffic and city life, this is the place to go. Small towns are nearby but not close enough to disturb the peace.

Rustic creek experience
I was slow to warm up to this place until we got settled in and explored all the town had to offer. Loved The Merc and the walking trails for my dog. The wildflowers were wonderful. The furniture seemed a little sketchy as to cleanliness but the cabin as a whole was great.

Sound of running water from nearby stream was relaxing and could be heard through out. Accommodations were adequate with exception of master which was excellent. Communication from owner was more than expected. Enjoyed stay!

Lovely place and surroundings
This lovely property is in a very small town on James Creek, and it is so peaceful and beautiful, with a number of short trails or walks, a park and a small, excellent restaurant within walking distance. The property manager is on site and very helpful, made sure we knew when and where to find local events. It’s a bit out of the way, up a canyon, but convenient to both Longmont and Boulder. Well worth the extra effort to get to it.

Amazing place!!

Perfect Mountain Get-Away
Julie and Matt's place is great!!! My 6'4" husband was comfortable in the king size bed (even though it had a foot rail), but to me it was slightly too firm. The bedding and pillows were super comfortable. The apartment is exactly as pictured and had everything the two of us needed. On the plus side, they supply a large collection of CD's with a wide variety of music. Julie and Matt were super nice to talk to, but we also had plenty of privacy. We enjoyed a great breakfast on Sunday at The Merc up the road and their Friday night brick oven pizza was delicious! If you are looking for a great mountain get-away, you have found it here.

Great little family over-night!
The owners were very communicative and we had no trouble finding the location. A great size space excellent for our family of 3. My little 3 year old loved the animals all around- kitties, dogs and chickens. The River location and hiking adjacencies were great! Exactly as advertised in the photos and amenities. My husband and I have cat allergies and unfortunately they were really acting up when sitting on the living room furniture- but otherwise very clean. We didn’t really have any proper bedding for the air mattress for my little one- so if you do need more than one bed, I would speak up and let them know your needs- I’m sure they can help. We ended up just making due for those couple nights. Overall a great value for the price and I’m so grateful to have found such nice people!

Great host and great place!
The checkin/checkout process was smooth. The communication from Julie was always quick, efficient, and useful. A minor point is to add a bit more of a description of how to find the property, especially if you're arriving in the dark - but ofc that can be avoided if you plan it well. Julie was kind enough to let us check out extra as noone else was coming in after us, which was a blessing because our 8month old was able to finish his nap. Will definitely stay here again!

Gorgeous location, couldn't have asked for a better stay
We decided to finally try our first official "family vacation," somewhere nearby but with a "in the mountains" feel. We were traveling with two kids under 5, and this VRBO fit the bill and then some. The suite and amenities itself were top notch - we had no issues with WiFi, water temp/pressure, etc. (all the things "needed" to make it a successful trip with kids), and the outside features (trampoline, direct creekside access, a firepit with sandbox toys, and a park within walking distance) were amazing. We visited right as the leaves were changing colors, so our hike up to Blue Jay Mine was beautiful. We had two feline "property managers" who visited us throughout our trip and made us all laugh with their goofy antics - my daughter was also fond of the chickens in the nearby coop. Nice time in Jamestown
We enjoyed our time at this property at Jamestown. Everything was very clean and as described. Kitchen was fully stocked with what you need including a french press for morning coffee. The walk in shower and king size bed was a bonus. The hosts were very friendly and live upstairs as this property is located in the walk out basement of their new home. The way it's situated allows for privacy. Our only minor setback was in the wifi signal that was pretty slow. My husband was trying to stay up to date on work in the evenings, and the signal was a little weak. Otherwise, we were there to be outside, and the location is truly beautiful.

Fabulous stay.
Have you ever been to a place you enjoyed so much you want to keep it a secret? This was it. The hosts are very pleasant, but gave us our privacy. There are beautiful hiking trails nearby. The town does not have any stores or gas stations. But Julie our host informed us before we came to stop and pickup provisions. There was a nice firepit area just step away from the stream. I look forward to visiting again.

Hidden place in the mountains!
Nice and quiet place in the mountains. You will feel like you're home. Very friendly ownership. Creek is just 20 steps away from the house. Great hiking near by, Bluejay gold mine, Long lake and much more. Highly recommend it!!!

We love this Jamestown gem!!
This is our second summer staying at Julie’s place. It is the perfect place for our family of 5. Our kids love the chickens, trampoline, sand pit, creek, ping-pong & the 3 kitties who belong to the owners. She has all the things you need right there in the apartment & is very prompt in her communication. The Jamestown Mercantile is a must-visit spot for food & live music. We look forward to staying at Julie’s place again next year.

A spacious place very close to a vast trail network with serene mountain meadows. Sit by the creek and unwind… Be sure to bring groceries to prepare meals. Thursday and Friday nights there are meals served in town with music in the park (summer). The host, Julie, was very responsive and informative.

This is a fantastic retreat if you are looking for somewhere secluded. It is also close to Boulder for any of your shopping needs. The property is very nice and clean with everything you need. The apartment was spotless, beautiful and comfortable. Julie and Matt were wonderful, attentive hosts. They apologized that the landscaping outside the apartment was still in progress post-flood (only reason for 4 stars instead of 5). Everything else was excellent. Enjoyed sitting out by the creek, watching the chickens and meeting the kitties and dog! Less than half an hour scenic drive to Boulder.

A lovely, well appointed apartment in a cute little old mining town. Only downside was 1/2 hour drive to any store for anything. Loved it and the caretakers were awesome (Andy). Also loved the fresh eggs for breakfast from the chickens in the back yard!

Retirement Get Away
We were very pleased with selecting this VRBO to stay for my husband's retirement trip and our Golden Retriever's 1st vacation in the mountains and we will come back as soon as we can. The space we rented was a well supplied large homey apartment/in-law suite underneath the family's primary living space. It had everything we needed and more for our quick trip away from KC. The property sits right next to the creek and the family shares their outdoor amenities with visitors. We selected this property because we wanted to be near a creek, in the mountains, away from city business and ease of getting to outdoor activities. A primary consideration was a space that would welcome and accommodate our 95lb Golden Retriever. We got up each day to let our retriever get in and explore the creek. The weather and creek turned our 8yr old retirever into a 3yr old again. He had so much fun and we loved seeing his energy. We meant to utilize the pickleball courts nearby, but seemed to do other things. If you are looking for a city getaway and enjoy getting to know VRBO owners and their family and then in the midst of a local community then this is the place to stay. They let us know in advance the community was getting together for pizza and music on our arrival day. So glad we got that information in advance. It was a nice way to end our full day of driving.

Fun family getaway
Our 10, 8, & 5 year old loved this place! It had just the amount of stuff to fill their buckets: chickens, cats, creek, ping-pong, trampoline, etc. There is a bit of noise from upstairs where the owner resides but it was not too bothersome to us, just had to use our sound machine & correction collar for our dog who barks at every noise. The interior is spacious & clean. The location is remote which was just what we were looking for social distancing.

Poor privacy, beautiful location, noisey
The rented unit is below the main tenants living quarters. We could hear all the activity above throughout the night. There is little to no privacy in the yard as their patio is above you and although the listing said "pet-friendly" we had to keep our dogs leashed and indoors. Unfortunatley, they do not have a fence around their property and we were told this after we booked our stay and that the neighborhood had freely roaming dogs. This was infact true and would make one of our dogs very nervous. . Owners are friendly, family is kind, the creek makes a great noise, but as my partner put it, "you are picnicing with strangers." Overall we would not recommend it.

And as far as picnicking with strangers, you’re also welcome for us allowing your extended family to enjoy our property as well on their visit. Love our stay!
The room was cozy and had lots of room to spread out. The town was located between the national forest and Rocky Mountain National Park which allowed for great hiking. The property mangers were amazing and very helpful. We had a great stay.
