Sugar Magnolia House-Romantic Historic Home

Beautiful antique-filled rooms, comfortable and very spacious in Historic Springfield neighborhood. Close to downtown. Step back in time as you sip your morning coffee on the back deck, enjoy a cold drink on the veranda, or gather with friends or family in the backyard gazebo. Super-comfy beds and designer bed linens, fluffy towels, washer/dryer for longer stays of 5 days or more. Titanic fans will enjoy the library filled with memoribilia that features a turntable and vintage vinyl records. Gorgeously appointed 1st floor parlor offers a more formal setting with the artworks of John Waterhouse and a crystal chandelier while the upstairs den is perfect for family movie night. The formal dining room with its reproduction Colonial Williamsburg wallpaper and matching drapes is ideal for a romantic candlelit dinner or a pizza party.

The home is an absolute dream! It felt like I was sharing all of the nostalgia of visiting my grandparents' home as a child with my 21-year old son. He was taken aback with the history and splendor of it all. The record player and broad collection of vinyls were an unexpected delight, providing hours of entertainment while we relaxed as a family in the parlor. The fact that this home and all its interiors are made available for anyone to enjoy is truly a gift!The house is clean, the beds are impressively comfortable, and the upgraded HVAC systems allowed for complete comfort inside. It is well appointed with everything we needed to feel like a home away from home. I highly recommend dining at Othello less than a block away from the house, shopping for groceries & staples at Springfield Superette two blocks away, and exploring the revitalized Springfield Main Street district for food, entertainment & shops, also within walking district. Melody was very welcoming and responsive, and we can't thank her enough for providing this unexpected, added joy to our Jacksonville trip!

My friend and I had an absolutely lovely time in this charming home for a weekend reunion/getaway. The decor was lovely, so many inspired touches. All pictures accurately reflect the property. We appreciate all the indoor and outdoor seating areas. We made light use of the kitchen but found all we needed. The beds were very comfy and the neighborhood was quiet. Summer 2025 Regional Convention of Jehovah 's Witnesses

We were in the city to attend our Summer RC. Because l am directionally challenged, l looked for the closest place and found it with Vrbo . We were very pleased with the accommodations. Murder Mystery Dinner Party

This historic house was perfect for my sister's surprise murder mystery party. I didn't have to decorate anything. Not pictured is the dining room that seats 6. We pulled up two extra chairs and everyone sat comfortably. Everyone was in character and we felt transported back in time. Clean up and close out was very straight forward. The house was the key to the party success and I am so glad I found it.

Most unique vintage house in Springfield

The Sugar Magnolia House is a wonderful and unique turn of the century home to transport you back to the 1920's. Even though all the furnishings and decorations have the vintage charm, the home is yet furnished with the modern conveniences of air conditioning and wifi. From the large front porch to the extensive backyard, this space can be used for any family or occasion, big or small. The host was very accomodating and awesome. I highly recommend this getaway home!

Girls Trip for Concert.

Love this beautiful home. The home has a wonderful 1920s feel. The house was clean, the kitchen had everything needed to make a meal and bed’s were comfortable. Plus plenty of towels in each room. The historical home is about 2 miles away from the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena which was perfect for our trip. The lovely front porch with swing and the sitting area in the back yard make a great place to enjoy your morning coffee which was provided.

Will absolutely stay again in beautiful historic home

I was so impressed with Sugar Magnolia House! These beautiful pictures don't do justice to the home's raw potential. I am local so I will absolutely come again! It was the perfect location for my birthday murder mystery dinner party and all of my guests were so impressed and amazed at the home's beauty. The home was fully stocked with everything I could need, toilet paper, plenty of towels, pots, pans, and even seasonings. The ice maker was a game changer and saved me so much time.

We absolutely loved the place! The kids didn’t want to leave, they had so many rooms to explore and enjoyed just lounging around and relaxing. The house is beautiful, huge and was very clean! We were provided plenty of towels and soap. The kitchen also provided everything we needed to cook a meal. We would definitely love to stay again in the near future!
