Idy Hideaway is a cozy cabin close to town and with a big, enclosed, sloped yard, great for dogs and kids. It has 4 bedrooms on its 3 floors, the lowest 2 accessible through a spiral staircase or a patio door, and the one in the enclosed loft area accessible up a narrow staircase in the living room. One bedroom & a fully remodeled bathroom are on the main floor; a tiny room w/ a sink & toilet is upstairs. The cabin has a decent-size deck. We stayed in June but can see how the home might be better to visit in the snowy months. The house can get quite warm on hot days, especially the loft bedroom. The one window a/c unit for the entire house is in the dining/living room area. It's adequate for the common areas but doesn't reach other rooms. Multiple fans are provided to help create a breeze, though, and it helps that the nights are cool. (Do be mindful of the surprisingly low-hanging ceiling fan in the loft bedroom.) Note that the patio is not shaded, and the summer sun sets behind the house, making sitting outside a tad uncomfortable from early afternoon on and casting a strong glare into the kitchen window when prepping dinner. A standard patio umbrella provides some shade but doesn't cover the entire seating area. The yard is spacious, with rustic wooden stairs leading to it. We encountered a few gopher holes in one area of the yard (and an occasional demised gopher). Due to their location, the lower, basement bedrooms may also attract creepy crawly visitors.
