„Absoluter Geheimtipp, Wer auf das alte England und auf schöne Pubs steht, ist hier absolut richtig. Das Hotel hat nur zwei Zimmer, die Einrichtung ist der Hammer, habe noch nie ein Hotel gesehen welches so liebevoll eingerichtet ist. Personal ist top. Es ist auf dem Dorf und man würde es wahrscheinlich nicht zufällig finden, da es etwas abseits der Route ist. Für uns aber kein Problem. Unbedingt zu empfehlen wenn man in Dover ankommt und anschließend weiter reisen möchte. “

„Super netter kleiner Pub mit Zimmern. Zimmer sind praktisch eingerichtet, etwas hellhörig, aber wir waren nur eine Nacht da, also alles gut. Für englische Verhältnisse war es super, obwohl die Deckenlampe zum Teil defekt war, ebenso wie Nachttischlampe. Wandlampe hatte keine Glühbirne. Personal war super nett, da gab es nichts zu Meckern. Frühstück ist frisch und nach Wunsch zubereiten.“

„Das Hotel liegt an einer vielbefahrenen Hauptstraße. Die zur Straße gelegenen Zimmer bieten Blick auf die Eingangsfassade der Museumsanlage. Bis in die Nacht hinein hört man den Verkehr. Die Möbel im Zimmer sind abgewohnt, das Bad ist in einem erbärmlichen Zustand (Schimmel in der Dusche, kein zuverlässiges Warmwasser, defekte Klobrille, Unsauberkeiten in den Ecken). Frühstück o.k., die Preise im Restaurant und im Inn sind überzogen.“

„We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely old inn. The ensuite bathroom was amazing for such an old place. Very modern, very clean with a good-sized and fully powered shower and a nice area set aside with a make-up mirror. The landlord was very friendly. A good location for walking in the countryside or visiting the many nearby homes and gardens. We'll stay there again.“

„Great food and choice of drinks. Room was lovely, although it needed a thinner quilt, as it was far too hot. A bit disappointed that breakfast was not served until 9.00 am, although they did offer me a take away hamper. This was a business trip so I could not hang around for breakfast. „Eines der besten INNS, in dem wir in UK jeweils übernachtet haben. Sehr gutes Restaurant mit interessanten Gerichten. Super Frühstück !! Besser als in vielen Luxus Herbergen. Gut gelegen in bezaubernden Örtchen Wye, ideal auch für eine Zwischenübernachtung vor einer Weiterreise nach Europa oder nach Devon / Cornwall.“

„As this is a very old inn (parts of it out of the 15th century) you of course cannot expect a super modern equipped hotel. BUT if you look for something special, clean and cosy this is for sure the perfect fit. Check in was easy and the staff very helpful and friendly. „Although ideally located I was surprised to discover on arrival at circa 1800h on a Sunday evening that no food was available and worse still they have stopped serving breakfast altogether. I found out about the lack of breakfast on reading a notice pinned to the inside of the door to the room. I was told that The Bear have been unable to amend their website!!! Despite being invited to check in online I did not receive any notification about the lack of catering. There were no alternative food ...

„This is a property from the 1800's so this should give you an idea of what to expect. Lots of grand original features and very traditional. My room was spacious, clean and extremely comfortable. The hosts were an absolute joy to be around and provided great company and conversation. Breakfast was delicious and set me up nicely for the day. I would recommend without hesitation and I look forward to staying again. “
