I booked this property during a recent family stay in Houston for my niece's college graduation and unfortunately had to leave within 10 minutes of arriving. As soon as I opened the door you could smell the horrific scents within each unit, one side had a very strong cat urine smell and the other smelled heavily of marijuana. There were numerous air freshener plug-ins throughout the homes, which made it clear this was an ongoing issue they were trying to mask, but they did not cover the odors.Three members of our family have asthma, and I am allergic to cats, so staying in the property was not safe for our health. We didnt unpack, touch or use anything in the home. For the 10 minutes we were there, we searched for hotels.The neighborhood also felt very unsafe. One of the gates was not functioning properly, which would have made entering and exiting the property difficult.I contacted the owner right away. He initially suggested bringing air fresheners, then later suggested opening the windows and leaving them open to air out the smell. I informed him that we had already left the property and wouldn't be returning. The property has a Ring camera, so he could verify that we arrived, immediately left, and never returned.When I requested a refund, Tobi told me I needed to contact VRBO.
