Hale Kai 216, amazing direct ocean views and steps to the pool! This 1bedroom/1bath condo offers the perfect Hawaiian getaway!Immediately you will be drawn to the breathtaking views of Molokai, Lanai' and the beautiful Maui waters! Take in a mesmerizing Maui sunset from your private lanai or catch a whale or two breaching during season (Mid December - April). The floor to ceiling sliding glass doors make indoor/outdoor living seamless. Enjoy dining al fresco with seating for four.The living are is open and spacious with vaulted wood beamed ceiling! Cozy up after a day of exploring all Maui has to offer on the sofa that converts to queen sleeper for additional sleeping. Completing the living area is ceiling fan and Smart TV.With views from the kitchen no one will mind cooking in this condo! Fully equipped with plate ware and utensils as well as all of the cooking items any chef would need. There is a quaint dining table with seating for four.The Primary bedroom is complete with Cal King bed and ceiling fan for the perfect night's rest. Guest bath has been beautifully update with a spa like feel. Complete with walk in shower.Please note this unit does not have AC however, there is very cool ocean breeze that makes up for it!Swim in the oceanfront pool, Snorkel out front along the coral reef, enjoy oceanfront BBQ's, or watch the large sea turtles (stay 10 ft away). Watch whales breach during season (Dec-Apr). The beach can be accessed on each side of the property for walking, snorkeling or just to soak up the sun. Right next door is Honokowai Beach Park, an open space featuring a recently upgraded playground area and shallow tide pools, perfect for the little ones.Hale Kai is located 5 minutes north of Ka’anapali and within a 15 minutes drive, to most West Maui attractions. A short stroll to Honokowai Farmers Market, organic food store, local coffee shop and a comfortable walk to numerous restaurants and shops nearby.While we strive to keep all photos up to date, there may be new and updated pieces of furniture or décor that are different than in the original pictures. Great Time!

The property was neat and clean. The view was amazing and the people that were staying in the complex were a ball. The sunset ritual was so much fun and a great way to meet people. We liked it so much we have already re-booked for next year, Same time same place.

Wonderful!!

We enjoyed our stay immensely. We have been coming to Honokowai for almost 20 years and this is one of our favorite spots! Clean and spacious with everything you could need. We loved the high ceilings and beautiful lanai. It was fairly quiet, even with the pool below. We would definitely return! Mahalo!🌸🌺🌸

Perfection

Our family stayed at 2 condos at this property. Our 4 kids (18+) stayed in this unit and loved it. It was big enough to accommodate them without feeling like they were on top of one another. The bed and pullout couch bed were comfortable and the unit was clean and well stocked to get things started. Perfect location and always a nice breeze throughout the unit especially at night. Check in/out was easy. We have already booked another stay in October.

Beautiful piece of paradise

Photos very accurate depiction of unit. Very nicely appointed. Kitchen had every utensil needed. Comfortable bed. Parking easy. Could hear ocean waves crash all night long. The property does not have a jacuzzi. That’s the only thing I would change about this location.

Great Apt but it can get very warm

Somehow I missed to read the AC isn’t installed in the unit. Property is great but if you stay at home during daytime it can be so hot. Also they may provide better service if stay is longer.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: we had a great time! The unit was clean, quiet and low key, up to date, great location. I loved the view and hearing the ocean the whole time! It was relaxing and I would stay there again! Loved all the turtles out front, and the fish market and ABC stores down the street. Only drawback, it got a little noisy on the road at night, but didn't really bother me, because I could still hear the ocean waves! Great time!

Lovely

We had a wonderful stay! The condo and complex were extremely clean and well maintained. There were many extras in the condo that made our stay easy, including 4 beach chairs, ice chest and sand toys. We left an umbrella and boogie board for future guests as well. The condo doesn’t have AC as you have read, and it does get warm. You need the lanai shade down and the front door open in order to get a good cross breeze from about 3:00pm on. Also there is no door on the bedroom, yes it’s a one bedroom unit but no door for privacy. All that being said I would absolutely recommend. We have stayed in Maui many times and we loved the Hale Kai complex, it was very nice! Mahalo for a wonderful time.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The condo is well appointed with all the amenities to cook in the condo. Do not leave any food out because the bugs come quickly. The view is amazing from the balcony and fun to sit and whale watch for hours. We enjoyed walking to the local coffee shop, spa, and restaurants. The fish market was amazing. The condo does not have AC which wasn't a problem when we were there but could be in the hotter months. The bedroom is in the back of the condo by the parking lot and was a little loud at times. The windows are old school slatted glass and let a lot of sound in. Over all the condo was great and easy to use.

Exactly as pictured!

The condo was exactly as pictured. Very clean and spacious inside, firm and comfortable bed. Beautiful views from the lanai of the ocean front and pool. The interior was perfect. Some reviews mentioned the street noise out front being a problem for sleeping, but it didn’t bother us at all. We slept like rocks! The cross breeze throughout the condo left a perfect temperature at night. The grounds were great, we utilized the BBQ one night for dinner and sunset at home and it was perfect. The full time resident neighbors in the complex were so friendly and helpful as well. Walking distance: Farmers Market. The BEST fresh squeezed juices, smoothies, açaí bowl, and loaded breakfast bagels made a perfect morning fuel for our adventures everyday. There’s a park next door to the complex with picnic tables you can enjoy eating and relaxing at as well. Oh and back to the condo, the small ocean front beach access was amazing. We saw and snorkeled with turtles out front every single day. There were 4 beach chairs available for use as well as two coolers (one square bag and a Trader Joe’s cooler bag). Condo also had 4 beach / pool towels. Thanks for a perfect stay, we will be back!

Great but..

It was my mistake I didn’t double check it was 100% my mistake I didn’t realize that they didn’t have AC it was extremely hot all day all night. And the rug in the living room was super dirty I don’t know if it had been washed per visit even though dogs are not allowed in there was dog hair all over that rug. They did have beach chairs and full kitchen utensils we didn’t use the kitchen we did use two beach chairs which we were so grateful for. But there was hair in the fridge raider and the freezer and there was hair around the toilet , and living room. We didn’t even touch the bedroom. But I had to clean out the fridge and the freezer because there was hair. Overall they keep the property well-maintained the walls are paperthin outside so you can hear your neighbors. But for the most part people were really kind and courteous.

Nice low key condo complex

Enjoyed the proximity to the waterfront and overlooking pool. Enjoyed that it was a smaller complex only 2 levels and mostly mature adult guests since my sister and I are in our 60's and did not want a big resort complex with alot of young families. It is an older complex that could use some updating and 1 bedroom unit was smaller than it appeared in photos. It was definitely sufficient but might consider a 2 bedroom if we stay there in the future. Bedroom faces the parking lot and street which was noisy at night and early morning with traffic going by. Would suggest a wall air conditioner so windows can be closed at night to be comfortable. The privacy drapes when closed do not allow airflow . Main living space was pleasant and allowed good cross breeze with ocean air and wonderful views . We enjoyed sitting on the lanai and enjoyed the evening conch shell serenade at sunset by the local residents. Friendly people and overall good vibe. Would recommend a better mattress on fold out sofa bed but it was doable . No real beach to put chairs out and lots of rocks making water access a bit treacherous but there is a beach park directly next to property and plenty of beautiful beaches close by. Loved whale watching and watching the sea turtles from our lanai! Will definitely consider staying at Hale Kai again.

Really loved Hale Kai. It is centrally located with a coffee shop, natural food market, Latin market and multiple food trucks. All within walking distance. There is a park just a few steps away for kids. The property is very clean. The manager takes great care to ensure the BBQs and pool are cleaned every morning. Loved that every evening at sunset the local owners go out and blow conch shells. Multiple whale sightings from the deck of the condo. But we were there in late March and they start heading out in April. The views are incredible. The condo was beautiful and very comfortable. Simple and classic design. The kitchen was fully stocked. Very clean! They did a great job of ensuring cleanliness. The communication from the property company was great. There was a discrepancy with the check out time and they were very accommodating. It does get pretty warm at night. No air conditioning. It’s a loud road but we found closing the bedroom windows kept the noise down. There were little tiny ants that the complex was dealing with. They were sort of a bother, but keep the trash out daily and don’t leave food out and it isn’t bad. Same with the little gnats. This is an island after all! Goes with the territory. The condo is very conscientious about keeping it spotless to reduce this situation. We had an incredible stay and will be back! Perfect condo!

A lot more $ than advertised due to fees, some items missing, poor telephone response, no key.

When you spend this kind of money, you shouldn't ever have to buy trash can liners and dishwasher soap. They require you to remove your trash every day but for a 10-day stay we were given only a few liners and only 3 dishwasher pods. That plus the required late check in (4PM) and early checkout (10AM) means you're paying for 24 hours when your receive only 18. They ask your flight schedule, which we provided: 11:30AM. We tooled around for a bit waiting for check-in time but finally at 2PM, phoned both numbers asking if we could access the unit early. NO ONE ANSWERED THE PHONE. Not on either phone. So then we left a msg saying we were checking in at 2 and would leave if the room didn't look ready. We used the 6-digit code provided and accessed. The room had been cleaned, so we unpacked. The in-room directions said "use the provided key" but there was NO provided key. When we had trouble getting on WiFi (our fault) I phoned and mentioned that plus the missing key. They sent someone out to check the WiFi but chastised us for checking in early. BUT THEY DIDN'T ANSWER THE PHONE! They also said the directions for the key weren't up to date and that we had to memorize the 6-digit code for access. We ended up putting it on our phones but then we had to bring the phone to the pool, beach, etc. to make sure we didn't get locked out until we finally committed the code to memory. We've been coming to Hale Kai for 30 years. We won't use this service again.

We stayed in this nicely updated 2nd floor unit that overlooks the pool and is within walking distance to grocery, ABC store, food trucks, park and more. The views from the lanai are amazing and the facilities are well maintained. my only negative comment is in regard to the street being fairly noisy but the trade off is how conveniently located to everything it is.

Beautiful condo with everything you need!

Wow! Just wow! From the view on the lanai with coffee in the morning to cocktails and dinner watching the sunset over the ocean, this place is the perfect spot! It has everything you need to make your vacay easy and relaxing - beach chairs, beach towels, pool noodles, a fully stocked kitchen (just like at home!), comfortable sofa and king size bed - plenty of fresh air flowing through! Really a beautiful, relaxing get-away! Turtles right out in front! Great beach for little one right next door, and with plenty of shade! We will definitely be back! Loved it! Only thing missing was a water tub for the front door to wash sand off our feet, so we bought one and left it for others. :) Aloha!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a fantastic stay with our 2 toddlers at Hale Kai 216! The unit itself was spotless and very well decorated. It had all of the amenities we needed inside and out, had a gorgeous view and was a quick minute walk to the beach. The location was great too, little farmers market and coffee shop right across the street, a grocery store and food truck park down the road (~7-10 minute walk) and a quick 10 minute drive to Lahaina.

A gem in a perfect location

So happy with our stay in Hale Kai. Condo was roomier than expected and immaculately presented. Every amenity provided and waves crashing a mere 20 meters from your balcony (with pool between) and private little sand entry to sea if desired. Very high ceilings and plenty of fans mean aircon is not required. A stretch of low rise accommodation in this area makes for a local feel with beautiful Kaanapali beach nearby. Property managers were very prompt in responding to queries. Would definitely stay again.
