„Totally confused Receptionist. Claiming only one room of two booked, at much higher rate. Claiming all Expedia's fault. No, it wasn't. Their Reservation was clear, 2 doubles with bath and breakfast. So the 2nd room was freed with shared bathroom and both pretty battered. Expedia had already charged for both ordered rooms, hotel wanted to further charge, which I rejected. Beautiful area, also hotel location at the river bridge and parking. Look for another accomodation. Not worth the hassle.“

Lovely welcome and check-in spoiled by an older lady I believe called Nicola (that’s what came up on the digital till when I purchased a drink later in the evening) who involved herself unnecessarily in the check-in process. „We had a really excellent 5 day stay. Our room (3) was huge with 2 kingsize beds and a large sofa. Bathroom was also a good size. The breakfast was good with excellent friendly, prompt service. A really good location for visiting the area and not too busy. Parking was never a problem. It would have been useful to have some plug-in bed side lights rather than battery operated nightlights. „This property was a find! I was concerned driving there as it was located in the middle of nowhere and thank God for Google maps else I don't know how I would find it. But what a delight! „I booked last minute for a cycle event in the area, the directions were easy to follow, if you screenshot them as advised, phone signal is poor to non existent (bliss) The Meadow View Hut is clean cozy and well appointed, the fire burns very warm so one of the provided logs at a time. If you can’t be bothered with the hassle of the fire, the heating is plenty on its own.
