Dear Daniel, Thank you for review. We are sorry the hotel did not meet your expectations. Because the hotel is an historic building, we do have smaller rooms, but are sorry you did not find them comfortable. Our apologies for the clogged sink. We do try to fix these problems as soon as they are brought to our attention. We do now change the shower curtains quite frequently to avoid any discoloration as that is very unpleasant.

Hello Kandice! My name is Finn, and I'm the owner and I checked you into your room. I'm sorry to hear that your car was bumped by another guest. In fairness, though, this is not the fault of our hotel and should not reflect poorly on our small family business. Our parking lot is FREE, safe, secure, and accessible from 2 points of convenience. There is ample parking for our hotel guests even when fully occupied. Many 4 & 5 star hotels in cities do not even have parking offered for their guests. Or, if they do, they charge anywhere from 50-75. I've had to walk 4-5 city blocks to park my vehicle while staying at a prominent hotel in Sacramento. Again, I'm sorry your car was damaged. It upsets me that one of our guests would do this and not leave you a note. I truly feel for you.It is not fair, though, to punish us - a small 103-year-old 13-room hotel - for the actions of another individual while simply providing free & convenient parking for our cherished guests.From our family to yours, best wishes and thank you for supporting our business.

We also use very high-end spa-grade bedding/pillows in our rooms, too. This is also the first I've heard of that bed not being "comfortable". Again, apologies. I did just check the bed, and it seems as if everything is just fine.I wish the mattress had been more to your liking. Thank you for choosing to stay with us and supporting our small family business. On our website, we inform our guests that this is not the quietest room in our boutique inn. We have the finest restaurant & bar in the region. It is a very popular destination with guests, tourists, and locals, alike. As such, it can be a noisier location until 10-11 pm. Know this, we try very hard to keep things quieter for guests staying in room 8. Despite this, we do hope that you enjoyed your stay with us at our historic inn, and had a great time at our restaurant. We hope the noise wasn't a terrible inconvenience. Alice, it was wonderful having you stay with us. To be honest, though, our hotel is very reasonably priced. We are a 3-star hotel, a National Historic Landmark, with the very best in-house restaurant & bar in the region. We have a lovely outdoor beer garden and a world class private balcony overlooking the historic town of Groveland. Are rooms are clean and well kept. The bedding and towels are spa grade. You will spend MORE staying at a local MOTEL. The only other hotel in our category in town is on average 75-100 or more for a room that is virtually identical to ours. The 2 resorts in the region will charge you over 400-600 a night and an added 50 for breakfast. We are sorry you felt this way. But, in fact, we are a wonderful hotel, a small family business, and a FANTASTIC value. Our hotel is a memorable experience. Thank you for supporting our small family business. Our hotel is BEAUTIFUL and very well maintained. It is a 102-year-old hotel. It is not brand new. The room you stayed in has new mattresses, a lovely clawfoot tub and shower, and spa-quality bedding and towels. We have a professional housekeeping staff that follows strict cleaning protocols. We are a national historic landmark with the finest in-house restaurant & bar in the region. In fairness, this review is unduly critical. I'm sorry you did not enjoy your 1 night stay with us. But, the vast majority of our guests simply LOVE the authenticity of our special little inn. It would have been nice if you had contacted us directly before leaving this review. Our hotel is not, though, as you describe. We are a small family business and we take great pride in doing everything we can to provide our guests with a unique and memorable experience.
