8/10 – Gut

I am in a wheelchair, and as such, my only complaint is the odd set up for persons with disabilities to enter. One must wheel down past the actual front doors, which are stair assessable only, then enter a bit of covered area (which was by far the only real dirty and/or broken down looking space), then ride the elevator up and enter on the other side of the main foyer from the front desk. It wasn't such a big deal that I wouldn't stay again, but it was quite an annoyance. I believe a ramp renovated into the side of the stairs would be a really good investment, as for handicapped persons, this would seem to be the only truly bad notation on the building.
With that said, the room was very clean and cozy, and the couple staff members I had dealings with were amazingly nice. My son and I were in Michigan for a college graduation, and I am disabled with very little income. At the price point on this room.,however, was quite a good deal.
I would like to thank the staff for being a part of our wonderful weekend in Grand Rapids, particularly the women who checked us in and out. They were both quite helpful and quite kind.
