Sehr nettes Personal, etwas abgewohnt aber okay.
Wir haben dort übernachtet, weil wir den Kancamagus Highway, Franconia Notch und Mount Washington besucht haben. Das Hotel ist offenbar in Familienbesitz und gehört keiner Kette an. Es ist wohl eher ein Ferienhotel als ein "Durchreisehotel". Unser Zimmer war in Ordnung, der Betrieb ist aber etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Das Personal war allerdings sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Es gab Gastronomie-Empfehlungen, obwohl das Hotel ein eigenes Restaurant hat. Dort wird auch das kostenpflichtige Frühstück angeboten, dass nur unwesentlich besser war, als in den mittelpreisigen Kettenhotels. Es gab allerdings richtiges Besteck und Geschirr. Wir würden jedenfalls wieder dort nächtigen.

Gutes Hotel
Das Hotel ist schön gelegen am Ortseingang von Gorham, ideal um die White Mountains zu erkunden und Mount Washington zu erklimmen. Eigentlich war alles super, allein das freie Wifi war weder in meinem Zimmer noch sonst im Haus stabil. Da die Netzabdeckung in den Bergen ohnehin schlecht ist, wäre ein starkes stabiles WLAN wichtig und eigentlich zu erwarten.

Nicht zu empfehlendes Hotel an den White Mountains
Das Hotel liegt am Nordrand des White Mountain Naturreservats. Der Mount Washington (Autoroad) ist vergleichsweise schnell zu erreichen - wenige Meilen entfernt. Das Hotel besteht aus einem Haupthaus und einem Nebenhaus mit großem Poolbereich. Die Zimmer sind groß, doch sehr hellhörig und waren nicht gründlich geputzt (Haare im Bad). Betten waren eher nicht mehr OK. Über Preis-Leistung habe ich mich geärgert. Das Personal an der Rezeption ist nett und freundlich; im Restaurant langsam und nicht sehr kundenorientiert (hier nicht frühstücken).

Für einen Kurzaufenthalt okay
Wir haben hier während einer USA-Rundreise im Sept. 2015 im Zimmer 238 zwei Nächte verbracht. Das Hotel ist macht von außen einen freundlichen Eindruck, innen empfinde ich es teilweise etwas altbacken und „plüschig“ (habe noch nie so interessante ;-) Teppichböden gesehen…). Das Zimmer ist sauber, die Flure und Aufgänge leider etwas weniger … Die Zimmergröße ist gut, es wirkt aber etwas leer und ungemütlich. Das Bett ist gut, das Bad ist auch okay, gnügen Handtücher sind da. W-Lan funktioniert gut. Ein Innenpool ist vorhanden, ist auch ganz nett gestaltet, aber leider ohne jeglichen Außenbereich (wir hatten sehr gutes Wetter mit viel Sonne, da wären wir gern auch mal nach draußen gegangen – schade). Das Frühstück im hauseigenen Restaurant haben wir nicht probiert, wohl aber das „American Family Dinner“ – gute, aber kalorienlastige und REICHLICHE!!! Hausmannskost. Für eine Erkundung der White Mountains ist die Lage sehr gut, aber der Straßenlärm kann schon störend wirken. Die Nacht auf Montag (Labour Day = Feiertag) war ruhig, die Nacht auf Dienstag eher weniger, ab 4 Uhr früh war wegen der vielen Lastwagen auf der Straße an Schlaf nicht mehr zu denken.

Am Eingang zu den White Mountains
Das Zimmer mit 2 grossen Doppelbett lag im Gebäude mit dem Indoorpool in Richtung Strasse. Groß und geräumig eingerichtet, entsprach es voll und ganz unseren Bedürfnissen. Von der Strasse war nur sehr wenig zu Jahren, doch die Aussicht war beeindruckend.

Gute Lage, klasse Frühstück
Gorham ist ein kleiner Ort aber mit allen notwendigen Einrichtungen in den White Mountains. Das Hotel liegt am Ortsausgang, ist sehr sauber und hat einen tollen Frühstücksraum u.a. mit Frühstücksbüffet. Service ist gut. Ideale Lage für Wanderungen in die Berge. Innenpool haben wir nicht benutzt, war aber durchaus besucht. Im Ort diverse Lokale und ein gemütlicher Pub (empfehlenswert).

Enttäuschung
Äußerlich macht das Hotel einen guten Eindruck, aber die zwei Zimmer, die wir gebucht hatten, waren stark abgenutzt. Die Tapete war an etlichen Stellen lose, die Bettdecke eingerissen. Es war überall fleckig und nur oberflächlich sauber. Wir haben uns sehr unwohl gefühlt und unseren Aufenthalt von geplanten 5 auf 2 Nächte verkürzt. Positiv: die Stornierung der bereits gebuchten und bezahlten Nächte war kein Problem.

1st room given had a broken AC,2nd Room given was dirty dusty and dingy, they advertised an indoor pool but fail to mention it’s in a completely different building. Felt unsafe due to a rowdy group drinking and partying all night, beds were uncomfortable. Booked 2 nights, left after the 1st night. Don’t bring your family HERE.

I love this family owned property with wonderful staff. Great location close to skiing areas, hiking, snowmobiling. After a day of adventure it is great to relax at the pool, hot tub, or sauna. The restaurant offers nice choices and the food is delicious.

This is a great property and the staff is wonderful. Onsite restaurant had great food. They have the quadfecta of a pool, sauna, steam room, and hot tub. Also there is a game room/arcade for the kids. We visited to go skiing at Wildcat, which is nearby. But this hotel seems like a favorite for snowmobilers.

Very helpful staff. For an older property the rooms are kept modern and very clean. Onsite dining is convenient. Pool area very nice and its not often you find both sauna and steam. Very reasonable pricing.

The inn was a bit dated but clean, rooms were large, indoor pool and in a nice quiet surrounding. Didn’t think the restaurant would be good but it was very good and Kristina was wonderful!

Good old school place, but the pool area was not as nice as it was portrayed on the site. Pool was ok with 8ft deep end, but jacuzzi was small and always full, and the steam room was so bad it was almost comical. The sauna was the only saving grace until we saw some crawlers around the heating element.
