The best rest ever

We came to this property after a week in DC and a few days on the Eastern Shore. Place was amazing and restful. We picked this place since it was close to President Monroe’s house; MountPelier (sp) - Dolley and James Madison’s plantation. We wander the countryside so beautiful. Great quiet getaway

The property is located in a very beautiful and secluded part of Virginia. All cabins are nestled within the trees and our unit had a lovely tree shaded deck. We were able to eat breakfast and dinner outside in complete comfort thanks to the trees (this also made it very private). The cabin was nicely designed and the kitchen was clean and very functional. This is a wonderful place for a getaway. The pools were very clean and well maintained. Check in was fast and easy. The concierge helped with information on the property and surrounding area. This includes guest wristbands that earn discounts in Gordonsville. We were very pleased!

Cabins were very roomy clean and updated. Plenty to do especially in summer. Staff were great. Definitely willing to go again.

A lot has changed

My wife and I stayed at this property 20 years ago and everything was a included. Now most things cost extra such as horseback riding, movies, and other lodge activities.

Good

Actually was good, we enjoyed activities, nature, pools, people are nice & friendly. But the issue we had, was our assign cabin not ready, dirty mess from previous clients, asked the Lodge to give us another one, they said we're sorry, all booked, will send housekeeper to clean it for you, that's took over two hours waiting inside the car because was raining, so I get in the cabin to take a look again, found the housekeeper used the same dirty beds sheet/ stuff on the floor set it back again on the bed, called for complain, then they offer another cabin, when the manager told me we're sorry we are fully booked, but I refused, I don't know why, just asked them to clean this one properly and put a clean bed sheets. But this issue will not stop me to go back again, because the important things are whole staff are respectful in Lodge office , activity staff, even housekeepers are nice, when I call for some shortage supply, they send it in reasonable time. I have a comment; that the spider webs everywhere inside the cabin & the patio, that's should clean as well. Regards,

Awesome

This was a great family getaway. No complaints. Anyone complaining about this location need their brain checked. You’ll read that internet was slow - well you’re on vacation. Put the phone down and enjoy your family. Would stay again.
