Die Unterkunft war hervorragend und hatte durch die Verbindung zu historischen Gebäuden einen tollen Charme. Der Fernseher auf dem Zimmer könnte jedoch größer und moderner sein.

Mein persönliches Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis : 8/10. Nur fünf Autominuten ausserhalb Galways gelegen, bieten die Zimmer beruhigende Sicht auf das Grün des Golfplatzes und das Blau des Sees. Essen im Pullmann empfehlenswert, aber nicht billig.

Traumhaftes Hotel in idyllischer Lage. Etwas ab vom Schuss, aber diese Art von Hotels findet man selten in Stadtnähe.

wir haben unsere bonuspunkte eingelöst und hatten das gefühl, dass wir deshalb ein schlecht plaziertes zimmer erhielten. das zimmer war mit sicht auf den parkplatz. aber das schlimmste war die dusche. das war keine dusche, das war nur eine dropfende dusche. das hotel ist relativ weit ausserhalb galway. nur für golfer ideal, da es in mitten eines golf areals liegt. das restaurant pullmann was sehr gut. wir würden das hotel aber nicht mehr wählen, da es zu abseits liegt.

Ein Hotel für Paare jeden Alters
Wir haben ein Paar schöne Tage im Glenlo Abbey-Hotel am Valentinstag Wochenende verbracht. Das Hotel hat mehrere angenehme Salons zum Verweilen am Kaminfeuer und die Zimmer sind geräumig und sehr komfortabel. Das Restaurant hatte ein köstliches Menü und sehr anständige Preise (3-Gänge Menü mit mehreren Optionen kostete 35€ p.P.). Auch der inbegriffene Frühstück war ausgezeichnet mit Buffet für kalte Speisen und à la Carte für warme Speisen. Das Hotel ist sicher auch zu anderen Zeiten sehr zu empfehlen, da man direkt vor dem Hotel sehr schön spazieren und Golf spielen kann.

The hotel was expensive and overbooked with bus tours. There were a few of us not happy with room. No tub, shower was open and next to toilet. Only one person could be in there at a time. I suggest the staff come as a couple and try to use this type of room! Also you could not get near the bar.

I think we were expecting more. Our two days at Glenlo Abbey was just okay. Staff was spotty-some above and beyond but others lacking the polish expected of a hotel touted as luxury. The Pullman Dinning Car experience, although by far the most expensive meal we had while in Ireland, was well worth it--a fabulous experience that my husband and I would recommend to anyone traveling to the area. We had a small issue with remodeling in a nearby room which when complained about was placated with drink coupons (not really what I wanted but a nice gesture). We loved the live piano music in the salon both nights but found it odd that the couch, which was broken Friday night, was not fixed or replaced on Saturday night when we went back to listen to the piano music. The hotel is beautiful though as are the grounds. Location is a taxi ride into town--easy to obtain one both there and back. With so many wonderful places to stay in the area, we don't think we would go back again except for the Pullman Dining Car experience, which is unparalleled in its uniqueness.

Good after upgrade
Despite the huge cost we paid in advance for a deluxe view room, we were given a basement room whose windows faced directly onto a walkway, allowing other guests to look directly into our room. This meant we couldn't enjoy the view we paid for, as the nets had to be closed. We asked to move to a higher floor, but they 'had no rooms of our type'. Our option was to stick with the fish bowl, or pay an extra EUR120/night for a suite. We opted for the suite, but buyer beware.

A fantastic stay in a very special venue
My partner and I had a wonderful stay at Glenlo Abbey in the lead up to Christmas 2023. The hotel and its grounds are spectacular and in a brilliant location a short drive from the city centre. The hotel was decorated so beautifully for Christmas. The rooms are a fabulous size and so comfortable. Every member of staff that we engaged with was charming and helpful. Dinner in The Pullman Restaurant was a particular treat, as were cocktails while enjoying live piano in the residents bar. Our stay truly felt like a treat. The only constructive point of feedback I have would be regarding the breakfast, which we found to be disappointing. The menu was a little confusing (no offer of the standard Full Irish, for example), portions were quite small, we always had to ask for more toast, eggs were undercooked, and the continental offer was not quite as extensive or exciting as other five star hotels that we’ve experienced. The service at breakfast was as lovely as ever, however, and overall I would recommend this hotel for a special stay.

Incredible place
This hotel is absolutely incredible. It was beautiful and surrounded by incredible nature. I enjoyed taking morning walks in the hotel grounds and having a late night drink in the historic bar indoors. Service was lovely, thank you Storm and all the front door staff for your kindness! The front desk team also put me in touch with a driver who organized a beautiful tour of Connemara. This is a beautiful, magical place and I can't recommend it enough.

Beautifully appointed hotel overlooking Loch Corrib and in easy reach of central Galway. Very comfortable room and high quality bed and bedding, excellent bathroom with separate monsoon shower. Great bars and restaurant options including the Pulman which is a one off experience to savour.

An absolute gem of a property. Beautiful, well appointed rooms with decadent bedding. Friendly service across the board. Quick room service and outstanding facilities. We’d be happy to have stayed for a week. Be aware that the location has relatively heavy traffic for Ireland, so plan some extra time coming and going, but once you’re on the property you feel a million miles away.

We had a great stay at the Glenlo Abbey. Wish we had more time to spend on the beautiful grounds but we were busy seeing nearby sites. This place is way overpriced. Beautiful lobby and lounge area but that’s where it stops. Rooms are modern for the expectation of being old/grande. Eggs Benedict were cold, pancakes dry. We paid less for Cahernane house hotel in Killarney and enjoyed it 10 times more. Would not recommend due to the price

Excellent hotel. Nothing too much trouble. Evening meal 1st class. Good choice on menu. Beautiful surroundings, easy parking. How a hotel ought to be run.
