Victorian charm 5 blocks to beach at Courtland Manor (2nd Floor Rental)

If you have visions of sipping coffee from a covered balcony built in 1896 and then strolling 5 blocks to the seawall and Pleasure Pier, this is the spot for you. In this 2-bedroom, 1-bath rental in the Silk Stocking Historic District, you have exclusive use of the sprawling 2nd floor including a sitting room and balcony. There's also a shared courtyard area in backyard and off-street parking for two cars. Both bedrooms have coded entry locks for privacy. Walk to beach and dining!

Summary notes that our rental sleeps 6 but we want to clarify that we have beds for 5 - we have 1 King bed, 1 Queen, 1 Twin Daybed + a queen sleeper sofa for 2 more. There is also a regular couch and optional air mattress others can use. We'll definitely allow 6-7 overnight guests but want to make sure you understand the availability of beds.

Our Blue Room has a Queen size bed and the sitting area with 42" smart TV, couch and love seat. For remote working or writing your new novel, there's a lovely corner desk area. Step back in time with an antique armoire for your hanging clothes or come back to present with a charging station for multiple devices. There's also a 6-can mini-fridge and Keurig for your convenience. For non-beach days, enjoy a big stack of board games or kick back take a nap as you watch Netflix or Amazon Prime.

The Coral Room includes a King size bed and Twin size daybed, with a 42" television and classic game table for an inspiring game of chess or checkers.

From the Coral Room, step through the floor to ceiling original window to your favorite reading or sipping spot on the balcony. Seating for up to 5 is available for enjoying the island breeze. You can even enjoy some of the Pleasure Pier lights on the right side.

This room also includes a walk-in closet/pantry area with a mini-fridge, Keurig, microwave and ice maker.

Pamper yourself in our newly renovated bathroom with walk-in, rainfall shower, fluffy towels and and blowdryer. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided. You'll also enjoy filtered water from the faucet for use in the ice maker and safe drinking water.

While we DON'T have a full kitchen to offer, we do provide disposable plates and utensils and a fantastic list of take-out and delivery options. You'll also find coffee mugs and wine glasses for your use and can just leave those on the hall table on the 1st floor for cleaning/replacement. You're saving so much money with our low rates that you can afford to go out to eat at the numerous amazing restaurants in Galveston!

The courtyard is available for your enjoyment until 11pm nightly (parents' bedroom faces it, so we ask to respect quiet hours after 11pm). With table and chairs, sit under the palm tree or enjoy a game of cornhole (from beach closet in garage area).

Noise Note: Our parents live on the 1st floor and are always happy to offer advice, as they've lived on the island for many years. While the 2nd floor rental isn't pet friendly, there are two small poodle mixes living on the 1st floor who love to bark their greeting when you arrive. You'll also hear them greet the mailman or other passers-by, so we want to set your expectations for that on occasion. We're also situated on a one-way street, Avenue O, so there is road noise when in front bedroom.

Please note that we have two off-street parking spots available on the left at the end of our SHARED driveway-we absolutely cannot block the driveway at any time other than dropping your luggage off at arrival at front porch for max of 5 minutes due to co-owning it with our neighbor.

A reference guide for all things Courtland Manor will be waiting for you upon arrival and we'll send a pdf the week of your reservation. This will include things like how to use smart TVs to access Netflix, etc. High speed wi-fi is available and all codes provided upon check-in.

-Some road noise may be heard due to traffic on street
-Two designated off-street parking spots. Additional street parking free
-There are stairs to enter our home. It's a raised house. There are also stairs to get to 2nd floor.
-1st floor access is shared with 1st floor residents with locked door separating
-Blue room includes locked owner's closet.
-Driveway is shared with neighbors and can't be blocked at ANY TIME
-Because of the steep stairs and balcony, we recommend restricting to children 12 and over.
-Non-smoking home
-Not wheelchair accessible
-No laundry available but we're happy to provide info on reliable and clean facility just blocks away!
