We wanted to try some place new for a romantic weekend and Farmers Guest House was perfect! Our room, The Charlotte, was warm and comfortable for relaxation. The breakfast that was made fresh every morning was by far the best we have ever had. The little extras like wine time with cheese and crackers made the weekend even better. We are already planning on going back. If I could have given this a 10 star review, I would have! You will not regret spending time at the Farmers Guest House!!

Beautiful room, we stayed in the Julia suite which had a separate sitting room, whirlpool tilbury, fireplace and was simply beautiful! Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Wine time in the evening was such a special treat. We plan to stay here next year for 3 nights instead of two!

This is a unique property that captures the spirit of Galena. It is an easy walk to the Galena downtown area. The owners are friendly and accommodating, and the attention to detail for their guests is evident. I will definitely be returning!

Julia Room is perfect
Attentive Service, great food. Friendly staff welcomed us energetically though we were 15 minutes early. The room had a divider door from the bedroom for privacy if someone were to rise early they would not disturb anyone. Wine and tasty snacks were served in the afternoon, cookies, a complete and full breakfast, plenty of coffee. We lacked nothing.

Mark, Like and Elaine were fantastic hosts! Elaine's breakfasts were incredible and we really liked that there was coffee, tea, water, etc. in the dining room all day. The room was decorated nicely and the bed was very comfy. I'll start the rest by saying this was our first B&B so maybe the things we didn't like as much are just normal... Last but not least, the parking option was not great - it was a municipal lot across the street and driver's were not observing the speed limit on that road. If nothing else, there should be a crossing light for patrons of this lot. The walls were really thin - we could hear everything going on outside with loud traffic, and everything that was taking place in the rooms next to us (EVERYTHING). The bathroom door would not close all the way and did not have a lock (I like to leave some parts of my bathroom time to my husband's imagination and vice versa), so that was uncomfortable. Although there was coffee in the dining room, I wish there would have been coffee in the room - it was inconvenient to throw clothes on and go downstairs to get coffee since I didn't want to go down to the dining room in my PJs.

Beautiful Bed & Breakfast. Loved all the History that came with it. We stayed in the Aimee room. It was perfect. The breakfast was top notch...we loved the quiche. We stayed for our 25 year anniversary and had a nice note and brownies waiting for us upon Check in. We also did a couples massage right there at the B & B, it was so nice and relaxing. We walked to Main St. for the Halloween parade. I would stay again and I’ll definitely let my friends know about this perfect getaway.

We really enjoyed our cozy stay at Farmer's Guest House. We were warmly greeted by the inn keepers and made to feel at home. The breakfast was amazing and the WineTime with cheese crackers was a classy touch. We will definitely be back!! he location is great and a few minute walk to downtown Galena.

My wife and I's first B&B experience and trip to Galena and we couldn't be happier. Susan and Don were amazing hosts; they definitely went the extra mile to make sure we had everything we needed each day. They made all the restaurant reservations and daily activity recommendations. All we had to do was just go do it. The breakfast each morning was delicious, Susan is a great cook! Cocktail hour each evening was fun and relaxing. We were there 4 nights and were sad to leave.

Don and Sue (owners) were extremely gracious, helpful and friendly. Our stay couldn't have been any better. Breakfast was artfully crafted, and bountiful. Wine and snacks before dinner were great. The decorating was very tasteful and I loved that something new always caught my eye even on day 2. Location was a short walk from the downtown area. We stayed in the Charlotte room, giving us a separate sitting area and a private entrance. The bed was very comfortable and the fireplace was such a nice touch on the cool evenings. Loved, loved, loved everything about this place

Farmers Guest House is a charming bed and breakfast that more than exceeded our expectations. The property is very well cared for and well appointed. Our room (we stayed in The Mary) was clean and cozy and was a wonderful place to retire after a days worth of driving in the countryside and walking downtown Galena through all of the shops. Great find!
It was wonderful! Clean. Comfortable. Amazing breakfasts! Liked getting to meet other guests at wine time. Susan and Don were great at giving suggestions and answering questions about the area and so fun to talk to. And their daughters were just as good at playing hostess when they weren’t there. I will for sure stay there again and recommend it to others.

Quiet location but near the action

Excellent B&B
Farmer's guest house is a very nice B&B. Susan has a friendly personality and makes everyone feel at home. Delicious breakfast with fresh ingredients prepared on site by Susan. Wine and cheese every afternoon was a nice feature. Walking distance to all the down town sites.

Great BnB
Great BnB right off of Main Street. The owners are very nice and will answer any questions you may have. They will also take any input you may have regarding the breakfast being served during your stay. We stayed in the Aimee and found the room quite charming. The fireplace was great to warm up with since it was very cold when we stayed. The dining room had soda, water, coffee and tea readily available throughout the day (and night) which we thought was nice to have. Breakfast was very good and filling. Quick easy walk to Main Street and all of the restaurants. The only minor negative is that the WiFi signal was bad in our room but this was not really a big deal. There was a large DVD library available to guests and a DVD player in the room so we ended up not needing the WiFi anyway. Would certainly recommend.
