The grounds are the real headline. A short stroll leads to 150 feet of sandy private beach with a screened gazebo, private boathouse, dock, and boat garage. Tie up your ski or fishing boat at the private dock. Webster Lake is one of the most heavily stocked lakes in New Hampshire, with calm water and none of the heavy boat traffic of the bigger lakes. Bicycles, kayaks, and fishing gear are available for you to use.
Wander 700+ private acres of wildlife-filled trails. Say hi to the chickens, fresh eggs from the hutch are yours. Pick your own apples in the field when they are in season. An EV charger is available on site for $25 per day. Kids love it here. Dogs do too: we are proudly dog friendly.
Sleeping is easy. Three of the four lower-level bedrooms have their own bathrooms for real privacy. Two main suites and two loft-style bedrooms round out the sleeping space. Soak in the oversized tub with lake views in the lower main bedroom, or enjoy dual sinks and a two-headed shower upstairs.

THE HOUSE
Strolling Woods is an Adirondack-style timber-frame estate on Webster Lake, with cathedral ceilings, exposed beams, three gas fireplaces, central air, and a sunroom that looks straight out to the water. Free driveway parking for 10 vehicles and self check-in with a smart lock.

A LITTLE HISTORY
Strolling Woods began as the 1800s Colby Farm, and the original blacksmith shop still stands on the grounds. In 1938 railroad president George Alpert made it his family's summer estate, "Willenrica," named for his three sons. His youngest, Richard Alpert, became Ram Dass, author of Be Here Now, and in 1969 he built his ashram on this land.

Kayaks, paddleboard, bikes, and fishing gear are free to use. Self check-in with a smart lock. Free driveway parking for 10 vehicles.
