"In my experience, this hotel was in poor condition. The property appeared worn, neglected, and in need of a renovation.
The problems began when we entered our room. The bedding looked as though it had already been used by a previous guest and simply smoothed out. Because of these conditions, we felt uncomfortable staying and immediately notified Norm at the front desk. He came up to inspect the room and initially acknowledged our concerns, agreeing that the state of the bed was not okay. However, management later reversed this stance and informed us that the hotel considered the room acceptable.
We decided not to stay and requested a cancellation. Norm and the manager—who turns out to be his sister—were very reluctant to issue a refund. Resolving the situation required a lengthy and frustrating discussion at the front desk before they finally agreed to cancel our stay.
Another major issue was the handling of our payment. We were explicitly told by the staff that our card had not been charged. However, when I checked my banking app right there at the reception desk, the full amount had already been debited. While they assured me a refund would be processed, I have still not received my money or any response to the multiple follow-up emails I have sent.
Overall, the hotel is poorly maintained, customer service is disappointing, and communication is highly inconsistent. Given the unresolved financial issue and the state of the property, I would not recommend staying here."
