There were dirty towels left in our room when we checked in and the walls are super thin. We could hear everything our neighbors were doing. Other than that it was a pretty good stay.

The room was a terrific size and overall clean. However the toilet and bath were in desperate need of attention. The toilet tank base was loose and the tile in the shower was in desperate need of bleaching and new caulking. Pictures were shown to front desk. This was not a consistent show of Holland America standards.

After entering the first room to find water on the bathroom floor and toilet tank leaking, we were assigned another room. Upon entering the 2nd room, we found multiple hairs in the bathtub. We had our own cleaning supplies, so we cleaned the bathtub. I reported this to the front desk and they didn’t seem too concerned about it. Later, my wife went to take her shower and she found a used bar of soap on the upper soap dish. Again, no apparent concern from the front desk. The next morning, around 8am, I requested clean towel sets. After spending the day sightseeing, we returned at 5pm to find no clean towels and the dirty ones still on the floor. Another trip to the front desk and they said they would send up clean towels. Within a few minutes, a guy showed up at the door with clean towels and an attitude. While the lobby area of this hotel seems nice and updated, the rooms are in bad need of the same. This hotel is used by Holland America Cruise Lines for their sailing passengers which leads to the lobby area being constantly crowded during the day. Had we known this, we would never have booked here. Lots of early morning doors slamming and people talking loudly as they make their way to the lobby to catch their bus. Stay clear of this property.

I like staying at Westmark in their North Tower. I don't like the South Tower. They forgot the cups. The elevators were dirty-they need to wipe down each day-with all the germs that are around!

The staff are incredibly helpful and willing to please. The room is spacious and quiet with the exception of doors slamming closed in the morning. Would definitely stay here again.

Toilet was flooded on arrival. Called and asked for it to be fixed. Two days later, not fixed. Light ballast in the bathroom didn’t work. So no bathroom lights. Blood on carpeted floor. The rest of the room was in great shape.

I reserved 2 beds, when I checked in they gave me a king room. They said that when you book through places like Expedia you are put on a get what is available list. I ended sleeping on the hard floor because I had my husband and mother in law with me.

Appreciated the mini fridge, but I was hoping for a microwave in the room. Also the TV service is terrible. Local cable channels glitching and dropping dialogue. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff was friendly and helpful!

The buffet breakfast was a great start to each day. Breakfast was always your basic hotel style scrambled eggs with some sort of bacon or sausage and cold potatoes and the typical stale danish… not complaining just saying how it is which is actually just fine with me given the time savings it affords you not having to go find a place for breakfast every morning.

Very friendly staff. Restaurants are walking distance. Tours are able to pick you up from here. Very clean rooms and lobby. The only sad thing was that the store was closed until the day after I left. The AC was also blowing at me when I was sleeping but you can adjust it. Overall I’m glad I picked this hotel. It was very clean and close to things in town that we wanted to go to.

Very clean, amazing views from the 6th floor. Great breakfast and dining hall in the mornings. Enjoyed our two night stay here. Would definitely stay when in Fairbanks again!
