Hosted by Coastal Stay, welcome to Camp Haven Mallard Cabin, a cozy two-story retreat nestled among the trees in the heart of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.

Located directly across from the Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail and just minutes from Glen Arbor, Empire, hiking trails, beaches, wineries, restaurants, and local shops, Mallard Cabin is the perfect home base for your Northern Michigan adventure.

Please Note: Mallard Cabin is a second-row cottage set back from the lake and does not offer direct lake access. Guests can enjoy views of Little Glen Lake through the trees, and a public park with lake access is located just 1 mile away.

🐾 Pet Policy – Pet fee is $200 per stay for up to 2 dogs (50 lbs max each). Please notify us in advance so we can prepare pet amenities. While we strive to minimize allergens, guests with sensitivities should be aware. Use provided sofa covers and designated towels for pets. Guests are responsible for any pet-related damage.

Please Note: Quiet hours begin at 10pm, and no unauthorized parties are allowed to ensure a peaceful neighborhood setting.

Full of classic cabin charm, Mallard Cabin features warm wood finishes, exposed beam ceilings, and a cozy fireplace that creates the perfect place to relax after a day outdoors.

The main living area includes comfortable seating, a Smart TV, books, board games, and a full-size futon for additional sleeping. A screened-in porch extends the living space, offering a peaceful spot to enjoy your morning coffee or unwind in the evening.

The fully equipped kitchen includes everything needed to prepare meals during your stay and opens to the dining area and screened porch for easy indoor-outdoor living.

Whether you`re preparing breakfast before hitting the trails or dinner after a day at the lake, you`ll have all the essentials for a comfortable stay.

Please note there is no washer or dryer at the cabin; the closest laundromat will be in Traverse City, and Suttons Bay has a laundromat as well!

☆☆ BEDROOMS & BATHROOMS ☆☆
The cabin features three bedrooms across two floors, 1 full bathroom, and 1 half bathroom.

• First Floor
🛏️ Bedroom 1: Full Futon in a private den that also works well as a home office or reading room.

🛋️ Additional Sleeping: Full futon in the living room.

A convenient half bathroom is also located on the main floor.

• Second Floor
🛏️ Bedroom 2: Queen Bed with a mini-split air-conditioning unit.

🛏️ Bedroom 3: Queen Bed and a Twin Daybed, with additional space for a Pack `n Play if needed!

Fresh linens, pillows, and blankets are provided for every bed. Traveling with little ones? A Pack `n Play and high chair are available for your stay.

Each bathroom is stocked with fresh towels and essential starter toiletries for your arrival.

☆☆ OUTDOOR EXPERIENCE ☆☆
Relax in the peaceful wooded setting from the screened-in porch or enjoy outdoor meals on the private patio with the grill.

Please note this is a charming older cabin with original character. As with many historic cabins, the stairs and doorways are narrower than those found in newer homes, and there is limited soundproofing between levels.

Traveling with a larger group? Camp Haven currently features three unique vacation rentals that can be reserved individually or together:

• Heron House – 5-bedroom lakefront home

• Sandpiper Cottage – 4-bedroom beachfront cottage

• Mallard Cabin – 3-bedroom cabin (this listing)

Together, the three homes offer 12 bedrooms with shared access to 100 feet of beautiful Little Glen Lake frontage, a sandy beach, complimentary kayaks and a paddleboat, and spacious shared outdoor amenities—making Camp Haven an ideal destination for family reunions, retreats, and group getaways.

Coming Spring 2027: An additional waterfront cabin of 2 bedrooms is being renovated and will join Camp Haven, expanding the retreat to four homes with a total of 14 bedrooms, 6 full bathrooms, and 3 half bathrooms.

☆☆Accidents Happen — We’ve Got You Covered☆☆
We understand that sometimes small accidents happen while traveling. That’s why your booking includes a $250 accidental damage waiver, built directly into your stay.

If something minor gets damaged during your visit, please let us know right away. We’ll take care of it so you can relax and enjoy your trip.

Please note: The waiver applies to accidental damage only and does not cover intentional damage, missing items, rule violations, or excessive mess.

- Check-in/out: Early check-ins and late check-outs are available by request, subject to availability, and may incur an additional fee.

- Longer stays: Please be aware guest stays longer than 10-days will require mid-stay cleaning. Mid-stay cleaning fees are the same amount as the fee charged during booking. A weekly cleaning and linen/towel exchange is required for long-term guest stays, short-term guest stays may request a mid-stay cleaning for an extra fee.

- Payment & Cancellations: Please check the cancellation policy on your booking platform. Please note that even if you are eligible for a full refund and a free cancellation, a credit card processing fee will be deducted. Full payment is taken upon booking.

*Please note that violation of any of these rules is considered a breach of the terms and conditions of the rental agreement. The owner reserves the right to evict any guests or visitors who refuse to follow these house rules. The violation of house rules may result in deductions from the security deposit or other penalties.

Child Safety: Parents must not leave children unsupervised and are fully responsible for their safety at all times.

Safety & Energy Saving: Please close the windows and lock the door when leaving the premises.

Report any damages and/or breakages immediately.

Cleaning and Maintenance: Smoking or burning candles are not allowed inside the home. No eating or drinking in bedrooms.

Please do not wear shoes inside the house. Please turn off any electronics when you leave the house.

Visitors & Noise: No unregistered guests or visitors allowed. The maximum property capacity is 6 people. Parties and events are strictly prohibited. Third parties are not welcome, and the place is for guests only. Quiet time after 10 p.m. Please refrain from making noises past 10 p.m. to respect our neighbors. NO FIREWORKS ALLOWED.

Pets: Dogs are permitted in the house. Please declare your pets to us ahead of checking in and settle any pet related fees. Pets fees are $200 up to two pets. Please clean up after your fur friends and use the provided retired towels to clean your dogs. Please do not let your dogs venture into the neighbor’s yards during their walks.

Housekeeping: Daily maid service is not included in the rental rate. We will be happy to help arrange additional cleaning during your stay for a fee. If you run out of clean linens (sheets/pillow cases) and towels etc., you are welcome to use the laundry facility to replenish them. PLEASE do not wipe any food, oils, or lotions on the linens. Please use the kitchen towels (paper or cloths) for their intended purposes.

We provide black make-up towels and cotton pads for removing makeup. If our other towels are stained or bleached during your stay, we will charge a $15 replacement fee for each towel.

Property/Home owner(s), Property Manager will not assume responsibility for illness or injury that guest(s) may incur while on the property. Property/Home owner(s), Property Manager, is not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or property of the guest. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are assuming the responsibility of any harm arising from their use of the premises or other people they invite to this property (per owner’s approval). Owner has the right to ask guest(s) to leave the property if these rules are violated. If legal action is taken against guest(s), the at fault party will be responsible for all law suits/lawyer fees. Any violation of these rules could result in you being charged your security deposit and/or legal action taken. Call 911 if there is an emergency and then call the host.

Pets:
We have the following rules for our guests with pets or Assistance Animals. This ensures that both your stay, and that of our guests after you, will be enjoyable and relaxing. Our pet fee is $200 for up to two dogs. Maximum occupancy is set at 2 dogs under 50 pounds each. If you have any questions, please ask us! The guest remains liable for any and all damage caused by people or pets or a service animal.
