Easy to find and communicate. So peaceful and wildlife (deer) in driveway in mornings. Lovely area. Looking forward to seeing what is done with continued property improvements. Would stay again- easy and good price point for the area.

My family of four plus our dog stayed four nights. in July 2025. I was a little hesitant given some of the previous reviews, but the price was great for a place that allows dogs and in a good location, so we decided to give it a try. I'm glad we did! The house is not Instagram ready, so if you're looking for a professionally decorated, magazine-ready house, look elsewhere, but be prepared to pay twice as much. This house gives the vibe of the lake house that your aunt and uncle have that they've furnished with all of their extra furniture, dishes, bedding, etc., and where they've done all of the upgrades themselves. It seems like most things in the house have been fairly recently updated (floors, fixtures, counters, appliances), but you get the impression that none of the updates were done by a professional contractor. The issues are all cosmetic, though, and all of the safety concerns mentioned in previous reviews have been taken care of, and everything was clean. We were perfectly comfortable and had a great time. A few small notes: there was no shower/bath soap, no Kleenex, and there were no extra trash bags - but, to be fair, the listing didn't promise them (we just assumed they were basic provisions for all rental places). So, if you rent this place, it might be worth it to pack these things. Overall, the location was very peaceful, the house was comfortable, we felt very safe, and we so much appreciated being able to bring our dog.

Adequate, but a lot of rough edges. Garbage around the outside was reported but owner never replied. Nail heads poking out of kitchen floor, sliding door sticky and needs maintenance. Very overpriced for the quality.

Don’t Look Too Closely

While the location is great, the rental itself leaves a lot to be desired. The actual interior of the rental does not match the listing photos. Paint, furniture, decor
very different in person. The rental does its job, AC works, toilets flush - but if you care about the details, look elsewhere. The paint job in the master bathroom and lower level bathroom is haphazard. Trim in the bathroom was falling off. A window covering was held up with duct tape. The kitchen floor feels squishy; there is obvious water damage to near the kitchen sink floor. There are no bedside lamps in the master bedroom. The light switches all around the living room are confusing and many don’t work. Even better, while I understand appliances break, prior to arriving about 30 minutes from the rental I got a notification that the fridge was being replaced because the prior one broke down. The new unit was not brand new, and it never got cold for us. The cold food we brought had to be tossed as it spoiled. We did contact the property owner but so much back and forth, and a maintenance person never showed. I was refunded a little bit for lack of the appliance. Given what the photos showed and what we arrived to
we were disappointed. At least keep the property listing photos to date.

Fantastic Find

Hd a group of 5 friends stay here for a long weekend. Plenty of indoor and outdoor space for eating, playing games together, and relaxing by the campfire. Beautiful tucked away spot in the woods also gave us some privacy. We loved this listing and highly would recommend!!

Secluded and private but not very well- maintained. The deck is in pretty bad shape and needs new gates. The inside was very functional and pretty clean. Good water pressure. Bottled water provided. Nice couches.

Not What We Expected

We arrived to the property and found the entry instructions easy to follow. Upon arrival we found large amounts of garbage and glass strewn across the driveway and side yard. Upon entering the property we noticed food splashed across the dishwasher and cabinets. Many cabinets and/or pieces of trim were held in place with tape. Some interior doors to bathrooms/bedrooms do not close. Safety concerns included double patio doors secured by 2x4s only, loose patio planks that popped up from the deck as you walked across it (tripping hazard), glass across the driveway (pets), and one of our dogs caught a mouse IN THE HOUSE the last night we were there. Not cool! Be very careful as you enter the property through the garage, the door step is about to break off. Overall the interior is worn and needed a deep clean. Garbage from prior guests was found under the beds upstairs, and the yard is very overgrown. The pictures are deceptive. We called the contact who was the property owner. He seemed surprised by our reports but in reading reviews, these issues have been mentioned in the past. He was willing to come up to the place but this would have meant our giving up time from our plans.

First, we want Evolve to know that we think this property is a nice piece of property. Whomever initially built it had good instincts. We can see that it could be a an attractive beautiful place. But here is the thing: 1) When we first arrived we were only told to use the keyless code - which Evolve provided. But there was no instruction on how to use the code. When we tried to open the front door it was not opening. Then we eventually tried to enter the code and then push the lock button. It still did not work. We eventually walked around the house and found another door that goes to the garage. The code worked here but we still did not know how the code lock system worked. There were no instructions. We called our contact and left a message but he did not answer and his mailbox was full. He eventually retuned our call. We are still unsure about the locking process. It appears the garage door access code lock is not working and we left the house today for 4 hours and had to leave the garage door unlocked. 2) There were not adequate instruction on how to use the disk system for the TV but my son finally figured it out. Someone hd switch the cables on the back of the tv. 3) When we arrived, there were approximately 60 cigarettes butts in a kitchen bowl the table on the front porch. 4) The outside part of the property is not maintained at all. There is junk here and there including a broken dustpan, pop cans and other stuff. 5) The house is orderly but clean

Disappointing

The previous reviews on this property, which I had hoped had been addressed, were pretty accurate. It’s in a lovely setting and convenient to local shopping and entertainment, and the property contact person was very helpful. There are ample dishes, cookware , cleaning products, bath towels and bedding. But the featured picture and overall description of this property are very outdated. I’m sure when it was built it was everything they said it was. Unfortunately now it has fallen into disrepair and needs much attention. I think the owner should spend a weekend there to discover all the things that need attention, from the condition of the deck and the need for paint on the home’s exterior to the plumbing in the kitchen, the non- functioning garbage disposal and sink hose, the loose toilet seat in the upstairs bathroom the lack of good lighting in the living room ,and the general cleanliness of the unit. Also we were never able to connect to the internet. There were two different sets of directions but neither worked. Also the directions for unlocking the coded lock on the doors should be more detailed. It was more complicated than we expected. Directions for using the oven would be helpful as well. It really is a shame because the property has a lot of promise.

Inconsistent Experience

Okay, I’ll try to break this into pros and cons. Pros: location, easy communication with manager, clean kitchen/bathrooms, beautiful area. Cons: There are previous negative reviews from a year ago that prompted responses from the owner saying they are doing a remodel, including fixing the screen doors and redoing the deck. The promised work HAS NOT been done. Additionally, the place is very dusty outside of the kitchens/bathrooms.

DIY gone bad!!

Big disappointment. Overpriced property. Sloppy paint job, poor tiling and floor installation, exposed drywall, screens that don’t slide, poor quality workmanship throughout. List goes on.

Shame on VRBO - RENTER BEWARE

My spouse and I have made a trip up to Door County almost annually since 2001. We’ve never had a bad rental property, EVER. This year we went to Door County with our neighbors for an extended weekend - their first time to Door County. The house was just
I don’t even know where to start, it was dirty
crumbs on the kitchen floor, the stove was filthy, and dirty dishrags were left in the sink. It smelled clean, but then I noticed several air fresheners throughout the house. I’m fairly certain the flooring is rotten beneath the carpeting bevy it doesn’t feel secure and you feel yourself sinking into holes in both the primary and upstairs bedroom. We couldn’t enjoy the deck for fear of further breaking the already broken slider in the main room. We couldn’t use the other slider for fresh air due to there being a golf ball sized hole in the screen door. Neither the home or the property appear as in the pictures on VRBO. The house has SO MUCH POTENTIAL, but whomever the handyman or caretaker is could benefit from either watching some YouTube videos or hiring a good contractor to repair the house. Doors didn’t fit the door frames, decking screws were used for the baseboards, decking screws held up the fan in the bathroom, baseboards were used as as crown molding around the ceiling. Outside garbage cans were so full, we could barely fit the garage we had accumulated from our short time there. On a positive note, the air conditioning wasn’t working upon our arrival. I called the property contact and he responded immediately. The issue was promptly resolved. Mind you, we didn’t go to Door County to sit inside all weekend, this was simply a place to sleep, but it wasn’t comfortable and it ABSOLUTELY wasn’t worth the money we had to pay for a few short days. I feel like the joke was on us. It’s too bad I didn’t see the other reviews that were on VRBO until after I had booked this home.

Not up to my standards

1. Close to Egg Harbor 2. No communication from property manager about access to home 3. Called and told home not ready at 4p.. may need longer to repair garbage disposal 4. The property needs a major work .. lacks paint job in all rooms. door and baseboards were installed with deck nails .. trim fell of 2- doors in the home when closed .. taped it with blue tape 5. Bedding did not have protective plastic on mattresses or pillows except for the master bedroom which had a flat plastic covering the mattress.. floorboards in master bedroom were rotted and dipped into a hole as you walked on the carpet 6. Kitchen chair broke and had 3 chairs 7. Coach was dirty and carpet had pet Stains 8. Internet not working on last day due to unpaid bill 9. Fire pit had broken chairs My final comment is I will reach out to Evolve management and VRBO to personally check this property and see if it worthy of a property rental for them and their family. It did not meet the quality, away from home vacation .. bummed many don’t write reviews due to lack of property owner or management responses.

Great location!

This cabin was perfect for my wife and I and our dog. We booked it somewhat last minute and picked it because it allows pets. About 5 minutes from town and the water. Fire pit out back was nice. There was some wood on-site which was great, but there is wood for sale on just about every road you go on if you need more. You aren't too close to another house either. Would recommend.
