There is plenty of parking behind this beautiful building. The front desk is hidden next to the coffee shop, which is very cozy. The employees are very welcoming and go out of their way to answer questions.
Since it is an old building it is hard to navigate at first. Plenty of stairways and corridors but the stained glas, mosaic tile floors and old woodwork more than make up for it.
The bar as well as the restaurant are located in circular rooms which, especially since combined with the other features of the old building, makes them very grand yet cozy.
The restaurant always had people waiting on their reservation , at least they had the grand bar to do it in.
Breakfast is good, buffet as well as a la carte option , French press coffee.
I love the location of this hotel, mere steps from downtown area of Durham
