The hotel was easy to find and in an excellent location. Temple Bar/Dame Street/Trinity College are within a block or two. The location is excellent.
The staff was friendly and very helpful.
The facilities are not exactly modern, but it seems they try. There were a few "small" things, which made my wife and me cringe a little. The bathroom was clean, and they put a lot of effort into cleaning it, but the gaps around the tub/toilet would be impossible for anybody to clean. Also, our closet drawer was full of mold. We couldn't put anything inside. The TV remote was missing the battery cover, and the batteries were corroding a little. The buttons were all initially hard to push. Which didn't matter, because the batteries were dead anyway. What was most unusual, though, was that the window latches were broken off. Since our room faced the roof of a central building, it was actually 100% accessable by any of the other rooms in the courtyard-like roof outside. We asked for help, and a very friendly night clerk ran up the stairs with us and wedged a couple of paperclips into the latches. I would recommend bringing some nails or a 2ft stick to wedge the window closed.
This is better than a hostel, probably intended for people in town for partying. Better than a hostel, cheap price, good location, friendly staff. The breakfast was nice. I would recommend it for backpackers who want a shower or as a cheap place to sleep. Room 111 at the top of the stairs, if interested.
