CHARMINGLY RENOVATED HISTORIC CHESTNUT COTTAGE is nestled against the magnificent stone wall and grounds of the Lee Mansion. Built in the 1800's as the quaint house keepers cottage of the mansion, it retains much of its original wood work/ built-ins/hardware updated with modern amenities.

Off the beaten track but close to everything, Dowagiac offers fine dining/shopping/highspeed train into Chicago. Near all the best beaches and wine trail. 6 mins to the casino. Quiet/lovely neighborhood.

Beautiful unique aesthetic and charming outdoor space. Vintage inspired elements and original 1800’s charm combine to make a photo worthy backdrop to your family get together or romantic getaway. Large patio with fire pit, walled backyard, hammock, and garden. Nestled on the original grounds of the Lee Mansion this was the house keepers cottage and shares the beautiful historic rock wall. We’ve done all we can to bring back the charm and add a little of our own. Large farmhouse style table can fit all the family or host a work meeting! Beautiful functioning kitchen with everything you need. Comfortable beds with linen sheets and soft inviting nooks for sitting.

The entire house and yard is yours to access. Use our back patio and fire pit or relax and read a book under our giant mulberry tree in the back yard hammock.

Garage is not available for renters use.

I live in a neighboring town so if you need anything I can help. I also can offer highlights and things to do. I’m a survivalist, bushcrafter, and forest school teacher so if you’d like a foraging/outdoor experience let me know!

Quiet and family based this is a lovely street. We are in walking distance to historic downtown, the Amtrak train station with service into Chicago, the grocery store, dining, shopping, hiking, and a beautiful live theater and library.

Lockbox is located on the driveway side of the front porch. You will receive a check in code on the day of check in.
Absolutely no events allowed. Please respect the family based neighborhood. Please collect all trash, do dishes, and tidy up before you leave, please put key back in lock box.
