The drive to the hotel is great and the castle itself is also a great view! Meets fully the expectations. Most rooms are within the annexes. Pool is ok, steam room but no sauna. With all the Americans there (it might even be run by one) it lost it‘s Irish Charme and felt more like Disneyland. For me a disappointment.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel.
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. So much thought had been given to the restoration that we were shocked and disappointed to see mass-produced antique-look furnitue, something one does not expect from a hotel of this class which is advertised as a castle with real antique furniture. The spa area was a real pleasure, as was the food, breakfast in particular. We really appreciated the surroundings with the many interesting and tasteful sculptures. The staff were attentive and friendly.

Room, perfect! Had a corner room on the second floor overlooking the courtyard. Spacious room, huge bathroom, and comfy bed (so comfy in fact we slept through our initial alarms!). Staff were incredibly helpful and kind, they really made our toddler feel welcomed and loved. No need to leave as food, relaxation, spa, entertainment, etc is all onsite! We'll definitely be back, according to my wife our 10 year anniversary will be spent at the Lough Eske Castle!

Recently stayed here 1st time 2 nights. Not really centrally located must take several dark roads many filled with potholes and some unsafe road conditions to drive back-and-forth to the center of town were the pubs and restaurants are. Had to take a taxi back-and-forth to town even though it's less than three or 4 miles they charge you $15 euro each way which comes out of 17 or 18 American US Cleanliness of the room needed a lot to be desired rug was dirty and they didn't refill the soaps or things that were necessary. After my first night things were not replenished they charged a fortune to have my laundry done almost 3, American dollars to wash a pair of underwear and shirt you up to $ 5. Staff in the breakfast we're probably one of the best, the hostess, especially she got it !!! the front desk staff seem to be not experienced, and management didn't seem to be able to watch over them , when you called from your room with simple requests , the phone rang and rang unanswered and rang and rang. . Over priced with construction going on during my stay, even though they said, there wouldn't be see the pictures, also even though the parking was convenient and I believe free, still you had to lug your own luggage across the field and stone patios to get to your car not worth it stay in town if you can.

Dear John,I would like to extend my sincerest thanks to you for taking the time to provide us with such valuable feedback.Please accept my apologies, as I can clearly see that there were some aspects of your stay that fell short of meeting your expectations, along with some operational oversights that most definitely need addressed. As you mentioned on your comments, Lough Eske Castle Hotel, is a luxury country hotel, that although conveniently located near Donegal Town, it does require a short drive through the forest and fields in order to reach our main entrance. We believe this short drive to compensate for the beautiful setting and surroundings you encounter once you reach the castle. Nevertheless, I believe of utmost importance for our reservations team to provide information about the need for the arrangement of transportation at an additional cost if you are not arriving on your own vehicle. I will most certainly address this with our Reservations agents. Among the issues you experienced, the ones that caused me most concern were the cleanliness oversights you mentioned. These have been of much discussion with the corresponding departmental manager, and we will personally take every necessary action for an issue of this nature not to reoccur in the future. Please rest assured that the same process will take place to address the issues you encountered with the Front Office services. I would like to reiterate my apologies in reference to the construction taking place at the moment. It is with the best of our intentions that we have initiated a building extension project, which will host 25 new suites, and which we believe will be of great benefit to our guests and their experience enhancement. During this time, we are making every effort to allocate our guests rooms away from any disturbance. From what I can see, the room you stayed in should have not experienced any, as located far from such. Please accept my sincerest apologies if your stay was at all affected by this ongoing construction. Once again, I am truly sorry that we did not meet your expectations during your stay on this occasion. Please be assured that your feedback has been taken seriously, and we are committed to making improvements to ensure that all future guests enjoy a faultless experience at Lough Eske Castle Hotel.We look forward to welcoming you back soon. Hotel was decorated very festively. Gorgeous Christmas trees everywhere. Bedroom was huge, bed was comfortable but the bedroom was SO warm, it was at the point of being uncomfortable. There was no option to cool it properly. Apart from this it was good.

Ok stay, should be a 4 star at best.
For a 5 star castle hotel they were lacking 5 star castle experience. We stayed in multiple 5 star Castles and this was our least favorite from the check in and customer service follow through, to the breakfast. All was lacking the special touches that the other hotels in comparison offered wothout prompting. The room was plain and simple.

One of the most beautiful and romantic hotels my wife and I have ever stayed in. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Donnegal Ireland to enjoy their stay at Lough, Eske, Castle.

Our room was extremely hot and rather unconfortable. Phone didn’t work. Really disappointing for the price and hopes for a castle experience .

Loved everything about the Lough Eske Castle! The staff was friendly, and helpful! The dinner we had at the restaurant was delicious! They have a fully stacked bar. We really enjoyed the pool, sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi. Would definitely stay here again!!
