Most of our stay here was lovely -- gorgeous views, comfortable bed, great kitchen, nice artwork and decor, wonderful jetted tub, great location, even an easy way to keep the windows clear from salt. The shower nozzle in the master bath is very high on the wall, so a 5'4" person such as myself had to use the hand-held option just to get water on my head rather than fanning around it. That's an easy fix. More towels would have been nice too. I hesitated several times before booking this place, and it wasn't because of the place. Nor was it because of Chris, who was quite attentive and answered a couple of questions for us while we were there, including adding an extra night. It's more that on this property there are several masters being served -- the HOA and and year-round residents, at least two different agencies that book rentals, a separate cleaning service, and an on-site manager that you're really not supposed to talk to about anything unless there is some kind of structural problem. We rent lots of VRBO and similar properties, and this one felt like the rental business was pretty disconnected from the property, and that there were a number of strictures that probably came from the HOA. The process felt pretty inflexible. Which didn't dampen our enjoyment of the property itself much, but it made the process of booking, arriving and even leaving kind of cold/sterile, which felt out of place in this otherwise welcoming unit. A little more hospitality would have made this a 5 for us w/out question. The people we spoke with weren't inhospitable, but the process felt that way. The big question is: would we stay there again? Probably. But we might look for someplace similar with a warmer welcome and the feeling that we are valued guests, beyond what our money can offer. We felt a bit like we were a means to an end, and hospitality is a two-way street.
