**Whale Migration Season**
Depoe Bay is known as the Whale Watching Capital of the Oregon Coast, and winter brings thousands of migrating gray whales past our shoreline. From mid-December through mid-January, watch for southbound whales making their journey to Baja Mexico. In spring, the migration returns as gray whales travel north with their calves, often passing surprisingly close to shore. Whale sightings are possible year-round, and Depoe Bay is one of the best places in Oregon to spot them.

**King Tides & Storm Watching**
Winter also brings the famous King Tides—the highest tides of the year—which transform the coastline into a powerful display of nature. Combined with seasonal storms, the crashing waves and dramatic ocean views create an unforgettable experience.
